Fievel Goes West was the only THEATRICAL sequel, and then in, like the late 90s/early 2000s, Universal did a couple of direct-to-video sequels, much like how they did those two direct-to-video Chipmunk Monster movies.
I still cannot believe no local affililate of a network station (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, etc) has added the 80s series to the lineups in succession with the movie... my local FOX did with Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Oh good Lord, do I remember that! When my mom and I went to the store one night just to pick up a few groceries, the store was JAM PACKED, and they were virtually out of bread, eggs, milk, cereal, TV dinners, etc, all because people thought the world was coming to an end because of the "Y2K" bug.

Personally, I KNOW the world is coming to an end EVENTUALLY, because God never promises tomorrow, BUT, I also feel people simply picked 2012 as the year of the end to scare everyone, because NO ONE knows for sure when the world is coming to an end... even Jesus doesn't...
Basically, here's my ritual at writing fanfics...
1. Go to sleep.
2. Have weird, acid-trippy, Krofft-like dreams, and somewhere deep in the sugar-frosted frights, an idea is born.
3. The next day, I begin writing about what happened in the dream I had.
