New Muppet AMC Theaters Policy Video

I agree. It would have been great to have seen Zoot play his saxaphone or Lips blow his trumpet, if not the whole Electric Mayhem doing a concert inside the theater. Or they could have had Crazy Harry set off an explosion. Or Bunsen and Beaker do an experiment in the theater. And considering...

Why wasn't there a longer video deal in the 1980s?

Well, the site recently did an entry on the Playhouse and Play-Along Videos (the entry was on the Playhouse videos, but the article focused more on the Play-Along tapes). http://www.henson.com/jimsredbook/2011/10/01/101-21984/

    Little things we've noticed

I've noticed that while none of the Play-Along Videos were ever rereleased, the Sing-Along Videos included quite a few clips in the opening.

    Left out of compilation tapes

For years I've been wondering why so much good material was left out of this collection, but then it hit me: The Muppet Show has too many great moments for just ten videos. They would have needed to have made several more volumes to truly get all the best moments.

    Dreams about Muppets

I recently dreamt that there was a new banner for the new movie, but the artwork was the same artwork used for the cover of the 1993 VHS release of The Muppet Movie.

    Jim Henson's Red Book

It's too bad it doesn't say which compilation videos were shot that weekend, but at first I thought maybe it was Muppet Treasures, Muppet Weird Stuff, and Country Music. But then I noticed it said it was in 1984, and I've read that only the first four videos (as advertised in the promo) have a...

    Voice Changes

I know that people's voices change when they grow up, but do voices actually change after they've fully grown up and past puberty, or could the performers just be having trouble doing the voices the same as they had in the past? Jim's Kermit voice has changed a bit. Until maybe the second or...

Frogs are Funny- Awesome new joke book!

I expected it to be as big as the Sesame Street 40th anniversary book. What a surprise. It also sounds like it'll be better than I expected (though I still don't know if I want it more or not). So does the book include a lot of "At the Dance" quotes?

    Muppet Puppets at FAO

I don't know if this is the right thread for this or not, but concerning the subject of the possibility of Walter merchandise, I've noticed that whenever there's a new Muppet movie featuring new characters, the new characters pretty much don't get made as toys when the movie is out and being...

    The Muppet Mindset

Actually, Frazzle has been in a street scene after season 25. I recall an episode from season 29-31 which had a scene where Frazzle slept over in Big Bird's nest. Or maybe that was an insert shown in multiple episodes (which could have debuted before season 25).

The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Thread!

I've never owned the book, but I've read parts of it in the store, mainly the part about how the special came to be. It seems Schultz and the producers did a bit of brainstorming before deciding to do a Halloween story.

The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Thread!

I've read that Charles Schultz didn't have full controll over what happens in the TV specials (even though he's the only credited writer), which explains things like the Little Red-Haired Girl being seen in a few specials, and it sort of makes me wonder who normally did the pitching for the...

    Muppet Puppets at FAO

I'll have to reread the Tough Pigs coverage of that Toy Fair, but I'm pretty sure that Disney didn't allow photos to be taken of any of the Muppet merchandise at that Toy Fair.

    Muppet Puppets at FAO

The small assortment of characters sort of reminds me of a typical Palisades Toys series, only all the characters are "big guns". As much as I'm hoping they eventually make Walter and Uncle Deadley, it won't surprise me if they eventually release Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and maybe Rowlf, Scooter...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 42

I was saying that they recently put more episodes into each season (or maybe it was just last season), but for the first time in years are recycling street scenes from past seasons. I guess it's a budget thing. I wonder whose idea (Sesame Workshop or PBS) it was to increase the number of...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 42

It's ironic that starting last season they began doing 44-episode seasons and perhaps as a result went back to repeating street stories from past seasons. It seems like they're only repeating street stories shot in HD, yet there aren't really that many HD episodes yet.

    Muppet Puppets at FAO

I take it these aren't the plush shown at Toy Fair 2009, which supposedly looked like the puppets and were on hold until the movie. I wonder how long until those get announced (assuming their release hasn't been canceled). So far, these seem to be the most decent non-book tie-ins for the...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 42

Today's episode involves Elmo and Telly as "The Cowboy Pair" (this sounds like a past episode I haven't seen, probably a repeat but I'm not sure. I've walked in and out of the room at times, so I may have missed some segments (I don't remember seeing any segments for today's letter, E), but...
