My first Cookie Monster build has always bugged me—the fabric was too dark, and the overall size and look weren’t quite right. It never felt as accurate as I wanted. So, I finally found some time to take another shot at it, hoping to redeem myself!
As always, I’ve documented the entire build...
I decided to do a quick one day build and made a Slimey the Worm to add to the collection. It's a nice addition to my Oscar. I made a mechanism out of a trigger from an old spray bottle to pull fishing line to move the mouth. It's not that great but works all right. For more details on the build...
Holy cow guys..... This build has chewed me up and spit me out. This has been by far the hardest build to date. I would have never attempted this if my almost 2 year old daughter didn't now have a love for Abby (And the wife pressuring me to build it). I think I built everything at least 3-5...
Well, I just had to do Ernie since I did Bert. This had to be my quickest build. I somehow only spent 4 days from start to finish while only working at him at night. I think with me finally not making as many sewing mistakes has helped drastically with time. I still claim to have no clue what I...
Here is some pictures of my latest build. It's Bert! Had a lot of fun with this one since he has an eyebrow mechanism. It was fun to do a different build. This did remind me that building clothes sucks, but he turned out pretty good despite that nightmare. Also, I started a new blog at...
Finished Mr. Grover yesterday. Very happy with how he turned out. Learned a bit more with him since he is a bit different than the others as he has a loose jaw and a floppy nose etc. I also casted his eyes with liquid plastic. I used plastic spoons for the liquid plastic mold. That worked out...
Not thrilled with the fabric color. I was going for the newer Cookie with the darker fur, but I realize this is still probably too dark. I could not find any fabric I was satisfied with. Oh well, we still have fun with him. I included a picture of what I did for his skull for anyone that's...
This is my second build. Far from perfect, but I am overall happy with the outcome. The amount of details was quite the challenge, and there is not much info on the internet about building a replica of him. Hope this inspires others to try to build him. I'm here if you have questions on my approach.
I have been meaning to post this for a few months now. (I started other builds but I had wrote this up at the time, but never posted. I will eventually post my other builds as well. I would like to keep this forum alive as it can be very helpful when building):
Its my first build so be easy on...
