Well, Michael Earl was interviewed by Tough Pigs, and he gave the reason why he was no longer on Sesame Street after season 12. He was let go, due to budget cuts and because the workshop didn't think his performance had improved during his three years on the show (he was told he needed training...
Not very many News Flash segments are really parodies. While they may involve fairy tales and nursery rhymes and usually have different endings than what's expected, they are pretty much the same story or nursery rhyme. The characters (usually) have the same names as in the original story.
But...
I've been thinking, since the show started being recorded in high definition, which characters have had their own songs?
I'm sure that Elmo has had many songs since, though I figure most are either with a celebrity or other characters.
As for who I know has had a song of their own since, I...
Was just watching Chariots of Fur, and noticed that the window seems to look a bit different from the majority of sketches. Also noticed another bookshelf on the right of the window there.
I also noticed that Alistair Cookie's chair was only green in the segments where the intro and outro were...
I saw the info changed at Muppet Wiki, though when looking at the editing history page it just said a confusing "we don't even know if the triangle and square street scenes will be included" (what square street scenes???).
That does seem like a good explanation. Too bad they didn't feel the need to add clips with Dr. Nobel Price, Leslie Mostly, or Deena and Pearl (or the super-rare Shivers the Penguin). Also a shame they didn't add a few more Roosevelt Franklin or Professor Hastings clips for the occasion.
Muppet Wiki now lists all the street stories in it. It'll have four street stories, and for a DVD themed around shapes, three of them are about triangles. I would think more variety should be in order, though I don't know how many street stories there are concerning shapes that are not...
According to Muppet Wiki, the Sesame Street DVD after Elmo's Music Magic will be Elmo's Shape Adventure. Currently there's no cover image or description. We'll probably see the cover soon and learn more details, but for now we don't know if it'll be a release of street stories, an all-original...
Looking at Muppet Wiki, the episode where the cast gets locked on the roof is episode 1285, which is currently available on iTunes. Too bad his name wasn't mentioned in the episode.
And despite that, going by the sketch listing for Elmo's Travel Games and Songs at Muppet Wiki, it still only has five inserts, focusing the most on the new footage.
I've read at Tough Pigs that while the first episode is presented uncut, the cleaning film is removed from episode 123. Odd that they could get it cleared for one episode (where it was cut on the DVD releases) yet not on another.
Looking at Muppet Wiki, it mentions that Learning Letters with Elmo will have three street stories. It was said that it'll have The A-Team episode in addition to the previously-mentioned episodes (Fetch the J and Elmo changes his name to Jelmo). With the announced running time of 50-minutes and...
According to the 40th anniversary book, Steve Whitmire's first performance as Ernie was in the sketch where Ernie and Bert go fishing, when Ernie keeps catching fish and Bert doesn't. That's the only instance I know of for sure where Steve performed Ernie in season 25.
According to the Muppet...
I noticed that both discs have 19 segments each (not counting bonus clips). I would have expected the disc running time to be more important than the number of clips. And maybe it is a coincidence that the main program has the same amount of clips per disc, but it's still a little odd (as the...
Well, Bert might think to do so as well....
I haven't listened to this album in years. I'll have to see if I can find my copy and give it a listen. It was a great album. If BMG Kidz promoted it's Jim Henson Records releases better I wonder how well this (and the other releases) would have...
Looks like I was wrong on something. I previously said that The 39 Stairs debuted in season 19, citing Hulu, but then at Muppet Wiki I saw it listed among the skits in episode 2342, a season 18 episode, and searched the Hulu page, which does list it as coming from season 18. I'd read that the...
There's a free behind-the-scenes thing for those who download the whole thing, which makes me debate on whether to download it all or just a few episodes at a time. Two of the episodes are on the Old School DVDs (and the first episode is on the bonus disc included with 40 Years of Life on the...
