I haven't posted in this forum for years (like, almost 10?), but I had to come here, and say how much this breaks my heart, whatever the reasons behind it.
I'm surprised nobody has started a thread on this yet. Maybe we're too young.
But it was 25 years ago today that John Lennon was killed. I was a tiny speck in my mom's womb when it happened, but I still think it's very sad. I've loved the Beatles since I was little, and I can't help but...
I first heard of the "Information Super Highway" in 6th grade ('92-'93). We would watch these current event film strips (some of you youngin's may not even know what those are!), and one day there was this thing about the Information Super Highway. I thought it was some far off thing that...
I thought it was great! Napoleon reminded me of people I knew in school, kinda. I thought it was real to life (some, not all).
Here are some of my favorite lines:
Kid: What are going to do today, Napoleon?
ND: Whatever I feel like doing, GOSH!
-
ND to Deb: I see you're drinking one...
I remember an episode in Linda's apartment. Her lights flashed when somebody rang the doorbell, and someone explained to Big Bird (I think?) that since Linda couldn't hear, she had to have another way of knowing someone was at her door.
I have a Beatles set they did in 2000. There's one for each Beatle, and each is a different color. I actually have it cheaply framed and hanging in my bedroom.
Thank you everyone! Sorry I haven't replied sooner, but I only come here during the week since I don't have internet at home.
I bought "The Muppet Show" DVD, so it was a very happy birthday indeed!
So we've mentioned the Tootsie Pop, but what about:
Oh, the world looks awful good to me
Cuz Tootsie Rolls are all I see
Whatever it is I think I see
Becomes a Tootsie Roll to me
Tootsie Roll's gotta lotta choclatey chew
Tootie Roll, I think I'm in love with you
Whatever it is I think...
This is just from memory, but here's what I got:
Book Club:
What Do You Do?
I Can Do it Myself
(I also have some of the titles previously listed, BTW "When I'm as Big as Freddy" is one of my favorites).
Little Golden Books:
Cookie Monster and the Cookie Tree
The Monster at the End of...
I have a bunch of the "Sesame Street Book Club" books, but sorry, I don't have a definitive list.
I've started taking up collecting Sesame Street "Little Golden" books. I've been finding them a lot at antique shops and flea markets. I have about 10 so far. I'd be interested in a list of...
Your welcome. It did take lots of self control. Because it was really good chocolate, like Russel-Stover and Whitman. And there were small enough packages to fit in my purse. But I would have felt way too guilty if I had taken it.
And thanks for the signiture compliment. I like it too...
Well I don't have an answer to the previous post, but I'd like to share a strange moment from this past weekend.
My husband and I were visiting this rather touristy town and all of a sudden a big storm came up. My husband just wanted to find a place to buy socks (because we had just ran in a...
I think I typed "Classic Sesame Street" into a search engine (msn, I think). It was a Friday afternoon, and I was all by myself at work and had nothing else to do. Now I sneak on here whenever I can while I'm at work.
Ha! Take that, work! :p
I don't ever post in the puppetry thread, but I got this press release at work. Thought I'd share:
June 20, 2005
Saint Paul Convention and Visitors Bureau
Welcomes International Puppet Festival July 24-30
Public Puppet Fest Set for Saturday, July 23 from 1-5 pm
(Saint Paul, MN)...
Yeah, they're not real sticklers for accuracy over at jumptheshark.com.
I've noticed that on a lot of shows listed there. People just post their opinions, however misguided they may be. And whoever runs the site doesn't seem to care.
