Incredible! spending way too much time in this forum. You guys are starting to get in my head. .(scary) I have been thinking alot about this eyebrow mech and was just about to ask the same questions.
Betty, do you think you might be able to take that part of the puppet apart without damaging it? if so maybe you can remove the mouthplate material and replace it with new. Goo gone works if its just contact cement holding it. If its stitched thats easy. Hot glue can be a bit messy to remove and...
I guess what I really would need to see is how it works. The mechanics of it. Can you take some pictures of the puppeteers working it? And a good look down the great fishes throut would be helpful.
I made 14 puppet bases (mouthplate and necksleeve) for training purposes out of foam core and with the abuse they have taken they have held up quite nicely although I did reenforce them with some good fabric and foam finger tubes. I didn't even use any sculpt or coat. I do like how light weight...
I found at a flea market they have disposable cutting boards that are the perfect thickness. they only cost a dollar and you can make half a dozen puppets from each sheet. lots of expression without buckle or binding of the mouth. Gaffers tape or duct tape seams to pull away for me so I'm using...
oh ok thanks. That'll give me something to shoot towards. I'm pretty pleased for now with the amount of space I have for this. It was quite a blessing. If I do well with this...well I just hope I do well with this.:)
If I have counters covered like that do I really need to have the 4X8 island? counters are 2 ft deep and will have my downdraft exhaust fan in it. If so I might be able to make some adjustments to my plans but I wouldnt have walk space all the way around the table. Roof pitch won"t let me...
Thanks PP :). I might use that pattern and change a few things to it. I'll have to make it out of cardboard and paint it. After this fund raiser we should have the money for a VERY nice PVC and curtain stage and high quality portable sound system. There is a spot light that I want to get that...
Thanks for the link! I was looking for some stuff just like this.:) This will save me much time. I have to get 14 new puppets made by May 15th and train brand new puppeteers and a few stightly seasoned ones. Plus build a new stage. All for a performance at a pig roast to benifit our puppet...
Well this foum is loaded with priceless info on puppet building. There is stuff in here you will find nowhere else. Just do a search for any part of a puppet you need help with. I recommend you find a simple pattern to start with and get building. As someone once told me in this forum make...
*snatches pick axe Blink has in his other hand, poised at puppet planets juggular*
Who do you think you are fooling here? Nothing in you first statement was in any way "just stating facts". It was a vicious slam and not really appropriate. If you have any sence of decentcy about you, you will...
I was just thinking (scary huh?) that if someone was to make those kind of eyes with threaded shanks on them and a plastic backing thats threaded, then we could change out different eyes, ears and noses just like a Mr. Potato Head. You could use the same puppet for so many looks. I have a tap...
