You know, I honestly don't think any of the above mentioned members really intentionally post in a spamming matter, they just seem to have trouble grasping that we can do without excessive posting, and/or the overkill of one-word posts and such.
Well, I'm not trying to outright put all the blame on television, but there are studies that suggest that a lot of the negative and questionable kind of behavior people engage in today IS picked up by what they see on television.
Now, as for why there's not a lot of quality shows out there for...
I think the problem was the humor of those shows were too offbeat and too edgy for other kids to "get", if you know what I mean... the jokes and gags and such kind of go over their heads; I didn't realize until I was older that I didn't get it either, I was just entertained (that and I've always...
I'm hoping if we just come out publically with this and directly address this with them, it might FINALLY drive the point home with them.
This is almost starting to feel like an intervention, but ya know, sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures.
Yeah, but where are these teen moms GETTING these ideas from? The sad thing is a LOT of people out there like to blindly turn to media for guidence, and when the media glorifies things like this, people think it's okay, when it's wrong.
In all seriousness, studies suggest that more and more...
Thanks galagr, nice to know I can actually produce some words to live by.
That was exactly my point: we've tried, and we've failed... at them trying to grasp our message, which is why I think it's time we be more direct about it and try and get it across to them.
Did I not say it? NBC's got a new show coming this fall, and what's the major plot point of the pilot episode? The teenage daughter is pregnant.
Really? Is that ALL television has to offer anymore? People in bed with each other? People sleeping around with as many others of the opposite sex...
We're clearly not getting anywhere here, so I think it's time we actually make this a little more public, and more direct here in getting our message across.
To those mentioned in the thread title... you guys don't seem to grasp the message that this isn't a chatroom, this isn't a shout box...
One certain someone aside, this is really the first time I've seen those particular three actually hijack a thread altogether (and a memorial thread at that).
FOX in particular has a history of forcing all kind of notes and changes onto scripts. Ken Levine once wrote on his blog that he and his partner David Isaacs pitched a pilot to FOX once, and the network sent it back to them like THREE times with all kinds of different notes about things they...
Seriously Bieber? You're nineteen years old, and you have to have your body guards CARRY you like a three year old, 'cause you don't feel like walking? Grow up, girl!
Ironic, considering I was actually just checking the national schedule earlier today, the first half of Season 17 premieres next month.
THANKFULLY, we're FINALLY getting a bunch of GOOD episodes next month as well, mostly from Season 7.
We live in the ghetto, so from what I understand from last year (my dad answered the door), we only had like maybe half a dozen or so kids, wearing really generic to almost no costumes whatsoever, but yeah.
I'm waiting for xfinity Music Choice to change their Sounds of the Seasons channel to...
How come so many hurricanes have been named "Invest" this year? I thought they just simply repeated a cycle until there's a particularly historic hurricane (Katrina, Ike, Sandy, etc.) then they retire those names?
It's not really so much a nostalgic factor, we're just stuck in a rut right now.
I wasn't talking about strictly kid shows, I mean shows that were suitable for families to watch, that aren't specifically aimed at either kids or adults, like TMS, for example.
