Lynch is probably a bigger Muppet fan than his colleagues. We need more original songwriters like him nowadays.
Maybe that was the audience they wanted to reach the most. Think about it. This is just my observation, but it seems that such households are often filled with spoiled brats who need such lessons taught to them so they'll mind their manners. Especially with such subject matter as episode #9...

It's from the long-forgotten sequel album to Free To Be You And Me, released in 1987 under the title Free To Be A Family. Kermit performs on the track with Marlo Thomas and some Muppet voices. Also on that album is a studio version of the Kermit classic "On My Pond."
