    Season 40 Hidden Gems

If i was a puppeteer on the SST set and got the task of performing the cow in today's episode, i would have been WAY too tempted to get into the "gem spirit" and perform her with a Southern accent and imploring the others to "call me Natalie"

    Who built these characters

Zoot was built appropriately enough by Dave Goelz (who also built Floyd and Animal) The original rat puppets which inspired Steve Whitmire to create Rizzo were built by Don Sahlin.

Everyone's favorite singing civil servant! Your turn again (i'll sit this next one out so we aren't back and forthing!)

    2009 Unscramble The Muppet.

Taminella's one of my all time fave Muppets. Jerry Juhl was really underrated as a performer. aavghiccnulee

    2009 Unscramble The Muppet.

Aunt Taminella (or Taunt Aminella if you're speaking wackbards) How wild - i was also thinking of using Taminella Grinderfall for my last puzzle!

Yep -it's David - and i also was flipping back and forth between doing David or Spamela!

    2009 Unscramble The Muppet.

Hmm...hard to say since different people may judge that differently. Not one of the big gun major characters but also not super obscure...but i think it's fair to say that once the answer is revealed, most forum members should recognize who they are.

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 40

One thing i meant to include in my last post but ended up leaving it out before hitting send... Given that they only have 26 episodes a season, one would think a LOT more thought and care would go into individual episodes since they aren't having to "crank those puppies out" like they once...

What would Jim have thought of today's SST?

I don't think anyone could have quite anticipated how much of an impact Elmo would have (the tickle me phenom - the show becoming essentially "The Elmo Show"), i think Jim knew Kevin/Elmo would become rather big. Kevin really rose through the Muppeteer ranks very quickly compared to most and...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 40

Since we've seen a majority of the episodes, i'd have to say that though certainly not without its moments, as a season the current one has been more a disappointment than a winner - and when one considers that this is their 40th season which should have been a little more special, it really has...

    Season 40 Hidden Gems

No that's a new AM monster. Doubt that the Honkers are being phased out. They've appeared much more recently and frequently than Biff/Sully - plus it simply makes good sense to keep around characters that can be played by any available Muppeteer.

Bonus contents of Season 4 set?

Right - the printed extras that came with the original season sets definately make them the better buy. Now if we're talking extra stuff via packaging not on the discs, the original complete series did have a poster not in the season sets but i personally wouldn't call that anything special.

    Beaker Puppets

If you're hinting for ways to obtain an official puppet from the Muppet warehouses, it's not going to happen. They aren't sold or given away. They're kept onhand for use in other productions or in some cases used as part of museum exhibits. Just because there were multiples of one one...

Bonus contents of Season 4 set?

Don't worry - the discs are the exact same (with the exact same bonus features) in both the complete series sets and the individual season sets. (Wish i could say the same thing about Farscape...but that's a different thread!)

Was this really news? Fox News attacks Mr. Rogers

The idea of presenting both sides of a view without editorial slant and letting the facts speak for themselves is a time-honored tradition in journalism and is one of the most valued code of ethics in that field. In the US, not only has it been a long tradition, but also a mandated law via the...

    Season 40 Hidden Gems

Those Jim, Frank, and Jerry Muppets (or "The Country Trio") aren't owned by SW and it's very doubtful they'd shell out money or work out some arrangement just for a hidden gem. Best they could do is make Anything Muppets in their likeness (in fact they did do that with Jerry in the Families...

    Elmo Oil Painting for $12000000?

Well, you see it wasn't the "Elmo" or the artistry that made it so high - it was the oil. We all know how out of control the price of oil has become!
