I think that may be a true to life parable here. On Wed/Thurs, Im sure attendance do to thanksgiving and just the fact many people might be used to cgi movies around this time...maybe stayed away. But as word of mouth spreads that yeah, this is a crazy amazing movie for people who dont even like...
Yeah I'd give this film a perfect score had so much of the film not been cut out. I sooo hope they dont skimp on the dvd. I refuse to buy blu ray, so the dvd needs to have the same extras
d'aw! ^_^
I'd say this movie, and how long we've waited warrants all the (positive joyous shouting)...
For most people on here, we had our tearing up/crying moments throughout the film. But which parts of the film had you in stitches? Not just a few "hehs" and chuckles?
For me it was the whole butchering of Rainbow Connection in Reno by the Moopets. That is such an evocative, powerful and deeply...
Heh, thanks. I was wearing my furry fozzie hat, then had a "no way!" moment at Spencers yesterday when I saw the Beaker hat.
I rather would have this version:
But thats a park exclusive that sold out fast
Oh thats right...but man the 2002 and 2004 Mario Wendys kids meals were amazing. The Burger King ones were cool too. I just love combing through ebay's extensive fast food premiums section and seeing all of the worlds countless kids meal toys. If I had a lot of money Id get everyone I wanted.
Are you kidding? The main character looks like something Disney will aggressively market in merch form and girls will want to emulate. I mean she's white and fair skin, thats always a cash boom for Disney. ;)
Isn't it Miyazaki? Miyazaki is someone everyone can love, even those who dont like...
I agree. I own nearly a thousand dvds, but I would RUSH to theaters to see all sorts of classics...Fifth Element, Se7en, Goonies, Never Ending Story, etc. Im so so glad I got to see Muppets Take Manhattan on the big screen a couple years ago again.
Id love to see Fantasia in theaters, or see...
Like Twilight receiving terrible reviews, and kids looking very disappointed after walking out of Happy Feet, Hugo and Arthur(I felt like saying "aw man, ya shoulda gone to see the Muppets!") it brings me a measure of satisfaction.
Also to Frogboy, Im sorry...I meant to say "exciting"...
Well folks, let's put it this way....in the world of online critic polling where they take all the professional critic reviews of any given movie and attribute a score to it. Let's see where Twilight vs the Muppets stands:
Twilight: 27%
Muppets: 98%

That means...
Twilight is apparently causing people to have real seizures:

The more bad publicity the better...tho I dont like hearing people are having seizues, s much as I joke the film is a health hazard.
Well its clear, Disney is having an "oh crap" moment perhaps and realizing that yes, people want muppet stuff. Someone posted an email they received stating a slew of new products will hit in march or april with the dvd. that makes sense. I agree this is a trial balloon.
My and others chagrin...
You mean sweat shops. I dont like the government of China, but its more or less the factories used. I mean just google Foxcon and the Apple factory in China to see what workers go through.
But its best not think about how your meal(if it has beef, fowl, or pork) was made or where your stuff...
So much emphasis is placed on opening BO. But we've seen cases of films becoming #1 only in their second or third week. Or never being even in the top 5, but going on to cross over 100 million as a sleeper hit, like Midnight In Paris.
Ive rarely seen a "family/kids" type movie reviewed with...
Seeing the Harry Belefonte masks/Jim Henson photos...the montage of Walter in the trick r treat scene and birthday party. My gosh I felt overwhelmed...such a piercing moment. I can't get over the emotional pull that has...I dont know what that scene would be like for someone who is not...
I just saw it again tonight...loved it more the second time! I think the situation with a viewing has a lot to do with it. When I saw it wed, there were screaming kids. I was really tired from a long walk, and worst of all...my mind was telegraphing what scenes were coming up since i saw too...
The objects in Coraline, unlike cgi films, is real. So it definitely helps add the illusion. otherwise MOST "3d" films do not feel 3d and most the film it looks like just a darker muddier 2d movie. Thor, POTC stranger tides, etc...all garbage "3d"
Films that were TRULY 3d that I saw...Tron...
It is amazing how true fans made this thing. I thought itd either be Thatcher again(nothing bad against him, in fact I love most his muppet work...just new blood is good) or some hired job and thats it(ie MFS' director)
But Segel and Bobbins...Bobbins especially knows his stuff. Segel has the...
I too have gotten to literally meet and talk to real life Muppets. At Muppetfest I had a rather interesting conversation with Sweetums, and got to meet and talk to all of the performers who had their signature characters. I especially had a very nice talk with Jerry Nelson and Bill Baretta. I...
I thought Surf's Up was colorful and fun. Its actually more "fun" than Happy Feet. My reasoning for liking Happy Feet was Robin Williams, and seeing the first ever non documentary penguin movie. But I didnt think it needed a sequel...again, the ending and how it turns into live action leaves one...
