Armslength Tutorials
Here are some blinking eye tutorials that might help:
http://www.puppet-planet.com/Build_Your_Own.htm
It has three eye tutorials. Using eyebrows for eyelids.
Actually I'm thinking of building an old man puppet myself with this kind of design. It's going to be a king or...
Cool thanks!
I should've been able to find it myself though. I guess I'm just lazy. So is the Dark Crystal documentary very informative or not? It's quite long so I guess they show alot then.
I only saw the Superbit DVD, doesn't have any extra's
Could you give me a link to where I can purchase this documentary? Or is it an extra on some DVD perhaps?
I'm looking for anything I can get my hands on that'll explain to me how Jim Henson worked. Especially on The Dark Crystal movie. I knew there was a book "No Strings Attached" but I can't...
Alf talkshow
Yeah that's really really cheap.
Anyway I saw the talk show last night. Downloaded it. I thought it was ok. It needs a lot of work though if they want to continue with it. I didn't find it enjoyable enough to faithfully watch every episode if it becomes an ongoing thing. It was...
Exactly!
You are right Jinx. The RIGHT thing to do is always better than the WRONG thing. Even if it seems to work out better for you atfirst. Eventually the wrong thing never works out for anyone. And in the process you might have hurt others aswell as yourself. I should've made clear that I...
Music
I heard once someone got second prize in a movie contest while he made all the music himself and payed for using other peoples music, he put alot of money in it to make sure everything was legal. Eventually some guy who got first prize did have a great movie but he used popular music wich...
Found the comic!
It turns out that it's issue #7 though instead of issue #1. :o But if you still want it I'll send it to you. I could also check fleamarkets for ALF comics. I see them lying around sometimes for like 10cent each or something.
Aspereges, aspereges... heh
Sorry that's the last ALF episode I saw and that song is sometimes stuck in my head.
Anyway... are you a collector Luke? Or just a fan? I believe I have a Dutch first issue of the ALF comic lying around somewhere. I could look it up and send it to you if you'd...
Good of you to mention
I almost overlooked the rest of the page. :o Thanks for the tip! These examples are what I was looking for more or less. They help alot.
We'll see
The Tumbles P bear project was a great help in getting to understand the basics. I'm currently trying to figure out more for myself to get the result that I want. Everyone does that I noticed.
So...
...How do you control the eyes seperately then? I know you can't with this one but how would you be able to do that? And how do you also make the lower eyelids move up so the upper and lower eyelids meet in the middle?
Hope you all understand what I mean.
I'm wrecking my brain over...
Oops!
I must've disabled my email or something. I'll get right on it. There is an email link on the bottom of my blog sidebar though. :) I guess you must've looked over it.
Anyway I'll shoot you an email. Already added a link to your blog.
I knew it!
I just made the thing out of solid clay. Should've known better ofcourse but I guess I was just impatient. The 'lump' is almost dry now though :D
Next time I think I'll use those styrofoam balls to fashion the head around. And use the same self-drying clay to see if I get beter...
Thanks a bunch!
Those links really helped. I bought some clay, plaster and latex and I fashioned a simple head out of the piece of clay. I'm going to make a plaster mold of it, fill it with latex and then poar the excess amount of latex back into the bottle. The result should be a thin layer of...
Hi I'm new here,
I just started studying the concept of puppetry because I'm planning on making amateur movies with a friend. I noticed puppetry comes in very handy in the field of special FX. Yoda comes to mind for instance.
What I'm looking for are informative links, books, articles and...
