Very, very true.
Our culture is obsessed with the losing weight thing to the point where it's become a religion. Now, I am trying to eat healthier. Which means I stopped going to Subway, lol. Nothing but calories and sodium. I still go to McDonald's occasionally, at least they're honest! And...
It really depends on the group. For some groups, sure, physical prowess can get you respect. But as far as bullies that practice verbal abuse or isolation, there's no one solution. The only one I keep coming back to is teaching children (and adults for that matter) resilience.
Also, I really...
I do agree there are personality types that lean towards that kind of over bearing, intolerant behavior. And frankly, it's adults with that kind of temperament that often end up in leadership roles in society. This is why I laugh when I hear adults talk about putting an end to bullying. Adult...
Books like that don't create opinions. They simply reinforce what the people who buy them already feel. The problem here is Democrats have no clue how to speak to or respect the ordinary Americans they claim to be fighting for.
Thanks, Fuzzy. :) Ugh and to top it all off, my family's vacation is tomorrow and of course my bad mood became contagious and I'm being lectured on how I might ruin the vacation before it can even happen. My family's already prone to fighting and can't always control their moods, even if I...
OK, I know this is going to sound petty and bitter, etc., lol. But the other day on Facebook I came across the profile of someone who had harassed me in High School and made my life utterly miserable. Apparently this person now has kids and seems really happy. Meanwhile, I don't know if I'll...
I totally agree that it brings great possibilities for comedy and tension. I personally would have had Kermit be with a completely different type from Piggy (both temperamentally and physically), as that might be even more stinging.
People are running to Trump because it's painfully obvious the politicians stop caring after election day. And people have heard "You must vote" so often in their lives, they can't imagine not doing so, so they go to someone like Trump who's doing his best Tony Stark impression lately, lol. The...
And because why would Piggy replace Gonzo with some random guy unless he was actually a minister? Was Gonzo just that bad an actor? :concern:
Plus, again, 30th anniversary special. ;)
I don't even mind this break up thing that much, it's all in good fun. Just wanted to clear that MTM thing up. :)
Kermit and Piggy are your classic "will they/won't they?" dynamic. That isn't the same thing as "the relationship wasn't mutual." People can have mutual feelings but let a ton of things get in the way.
You mean Muppet Show? The jokes about weight weren't too bad there because they were usually in retaliation for Piggy's diva attitude. All the characters had their quirks and got picked on and it was just a charmingly dysfunctional showbiz family. Plus you knew Piggy could give as good as she...
Which I can't say I'm a fan of at all, lol. Jim Henson (and what's more, Walt Disney) did a great service by sharing the behind the scenes wonders with young audiences. That is often a big reason why kids get motivated to want to do these things when they grow up. For many fans, that is the fun. :)
