You're right, the gender divide for kid's commercials is pretty innocent. There's nothing wrong with it when you have a certain product to advertise that appeals to one specific gender. Some things appeal to one gender, some to another. But some products would appeal to both, which is why you...
I agree with you there. I used to be a teacher, so I saw all this close up.
The gender divide is evident in a lot of ads for kids...not all, (sugary cereals, amusement parks, etc.) but a lot of them.
Then there are those commercials designed to be just plain disturbing. The weird Burger...
Misandry (or male bashing if you prefer that term) is nothing new in ads, movies, TV shows, etc. It's been around for a while, but really started picking up in the mid 1990s and it's been "trendy" for many ads (not to mention the staple of America's "Funniest" Home Videos).
I made a post...
Oh, take your time. No worries. Moving into a dorm, eh? Hoo boy. Been there, done that many a time. How well I remember lugging all those boxes back and forth...clothes, books, a box fan or two...and of course my Grandma made enough food to send with me to feed an army. Thanks to her, each...
I clipped some of your post to save space, but I totally get what you're saying above.
I'm guilty of reading fanfics, but not really responding. There's some really awesome stuff here...your stuff, Prawnie's stuff, another tale (sadly unfinished) by someone else who I can't place right now I...
Peoples is peoples and Togas is Togas. :) Is great story! Is wonderful story! Can't wait for next chapter with bears and chickens and things.
;)
Seriously, I love this story (as well as the unfinished yet awesome) other stories in your collection.
Patiently awaiting more...
Another Guest Star! Product placement! Penguins!
Chapter 9
Kermit paid for the breakfast while the bus idled in the first drive-thru lane. Bags were passed from the window to the hungry riders.
"Smells good!"
"Yeah!"
"Yum!"
"Thanks, Kermit!"
"Annyfrrng elf?" asked the drive-thru...
No need to call the undertaker just yet. Until Lisa continues this suspenseful tale (which is superb, BTW), I got another chapter of "The Best Neighbor" to tide you over until then.
Convincing John
Ohhh...I get it. Thanks for explaining it to me, I guess I didn't understand how it worked.
No, I don't need the whole fanfic to be proofread and stuff. I just have 3 typos to be fixed. That's all. If you have time to fix 'em, that's OK. If not, that's OK too.
In the last chapter...
I agree with the "fanfic edit feature" if it could happen. (Jabs thumb back towards my fanfic in another thread).
Believe me, I read my chapters about 3 times over (in Microsoft Word no less!) before posting and still there's some errors that sneak through.
Any way we can fix 'em after the...
Thanks, glad you like it!
Although (grrr)...I noticed a couple typos I made (thought I caught 'em all). Is there any way to fix 'em? I stupidly typed "sawyed" instead of "swayed" and there's two words smooshed together where a space should be. Ugh, I hate typos...
If I asked a mod (like Ed)...
And read more you shall!
Chapter 8
The Happiness Hotel bus headed east, just on the outskirts of Hensonville. There was some construction, so Dr. Teeth had to take a few side street detours. Hensonville residents waved as they passed by. They knew that bus well.
Kermit decided that...
That ol' Frass is a nasty guy, isn't he? Believe it or not, I've encountered people with the same breath as him. They'd say "Hi!" and it's like the visible stink cloud in those Pepe LePew cartoons. I thought a rotten stench would be a good way to top off Frass's appearance. From the depths...
Chapter 7
4:00AM...
Clink...clinkety clink...
Edd Frass dug through his refrigerator for a late night (or in this case) early morning snack. Nearly everything inside was nearing its expiration date...including the baking soda.
Clink, clinkety clink went the jars and bottles as Frass moved...
(Checks out list of Sadies Stories in the FanFic index...overwhelming urge to read all the stories before I post anything else...)
Holy cow...there's so much to read there! (Haven't read the Sadies Stories yet). Well, my route from Hensonville to New York won't include many specific places...
Here's another drumstick suggestion some of you might try. If you happen to know someone who plays the drums, ask them if they have some old drumsticks you can buy off of them. The more beat up, the better.
Why old ones? Well, think about it. Animal "eats drums". Having drumsticks that...

Chapter 6
"Speedy Delivery!"
Several Muppets, Kermit most of all, sighed with relief.
"Hooray! It's Mr. McFeely!" Robin cheered.
Mr. McFeely walked inside to find a nervous but happy crowd. Some of them clapped.
"My goodness! Thank you!" he smiled. "What a welcome!"
"We...
I'm kinda like Kathy. I was here for a while, then gone for a while, then came back.
I remember when Muppet Central first started, actually. I posted a lot in the old Delphi Forum and remember when the navigation bar was on the left of the screen with little icons. Every Christmas, each...
