Does anyone know what type of puppetry the Middle East is known for, particurally Syria? I mean American is known for all sorts of puppetry, particurally hand puppets, like The Muppets. The Chech Republic is known for their marionettes. So what about the Middle East?
I'm not actually sure where to post this, since this scene isn't technically the TV show nor isn't part of the Muppets we know best. Feel free to move this. Also, sorry if this bas been asked already.
In that sequence in TMTM, how were the babies actually operated? I mean I know all the waist...
Everyone knows him as Kermit, Ernie and others, but I think he's underrated as a filmmaker. I think had he still be living, he would be taking a bigger dip into filmmaking and make a more inovations with puppetry and special effects in films, just as Walt Disney did with animation. I think...
according to a member on IMDB, there was a bunraku puppetry film that Jim was trying to push to American audiences in 80's, but never got around. does anyone know what the name of this film is?
Which do you prefer?
I personally prefer, cable controlled puppetry because to me it's form of traditional puppetry. What I mean is that, it's a simple type of puppetry, just like marionettes, hand puppets, etc. It requires the strong skills of a puppeteer to control it.
whereas, radio...
I was just watching some episodes of H.R. Pufnstuf and how was he operated? I mean it's clear that he's a costume puppet, but both arms were clearly moving and the mouth was moving along with the movements. So, how was that done, because I doubt back then they had the technology to operate him...
I just watched these two films for the first time, and while they were good movies, I was more impressed with the effects that were used to make the robot Johnny 5 come to life. It was all puppetry.
I actually like the effects in the first film better than the ones in the second one. The...
Back in may I was a puppeteer for Audrey II and it was a lot of fun. Very sweaty and a physically draining job, but fun. Here's a bit of my performance from the show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoBsww4vbRI
I know I just posted a video of short film and I apoligize if I'm making too many...
Hello, long time no see. I made a short film using my first marionette that I ever made. I made this over a month ago, but for some reason I never thought to share it on here. So, now I'd like to share it and I hope you enjoy it.

does anyone know any place where I can get wigs for puppets, I tried to search for it, but nothing comes up. I'm specificly looking for brown hair for a boy.
I was just watching the Sesame Street, sales pitch reel and Rowlf was a big part of it, a little more than Kermit. It seemed like Rowlf was going to be a big part of the show. I do know that at the time, Rowlf was the main character of the Muppets, but how come he didn't get involved with Sesame...
can someone tell me what show/special this scene came from, cause I remember seeing it once before, but I can't remember where it came from. Here's the scene.
Kermit and Fozzie are inside a television set.
Fozzie: Don't look, but...there is somebody underneath me.
Kermit: What?
Fozzie...
Frank once said in an interview that the original script to TMTM wasn't going in the right direction, so Jim let him rewrite it as well as direct it. does anyone know what the changes were? I wonder what was different about it.
does anyone know a simple way of building an eye mechnisim? I tried to build one by using a tutoral I saw online done by Tom from Puppeteers Unite, where you use a metal hanger, but I think I did it wrong becuase the eyes move up and down instead of blinking. Does anyone another way of doing this?
what do you use to attach the mouth piece to the inside of the head? I tried using a hot glue gun, but it made it look messy, becuase the glue wouldn't hold right away and would cause string-like pieces of glue, as well as huge gungs of glue. what's better to use for this?
First of all, I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
Now, does anyone know what Frank is doing these days? I've seen him or anything he was part of since Death at a Funeral. I wonder what film projects he's working on now. He never seems to dissapoint me. He's a great, but underrated...
what are your favorite films that appeared inbetween street scenes? I've always liked, Everybody Sleeps, Number 3 Ball Film, How Crayons Are Made, Where Milk Comes From, and Fireman Film.
let's say I wanted to make a puppet that's meant to have a realistic looking face, how do I go about doing that? Do I make a rubber mask put it on the head?
