Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
I just find the whole thing rather lame. As Dr Tooth said, it seems like the Toy Story shorts have more merch than the muppets. To me its an issue because 1) Disney is known for merch overload 2) every other kids film gets lots of merch 3) Again G-force, which had no built in audience had a ton...
Oh weird! That is bizarre. Since Toy Story is Disney's main cash cow, it is bizarre there's nary a peep in front of the tv spots or any promotion.
Heck, I went on ebay, not a single Muppets movie promo being sold.
Hopefully tomorrow when I check out the disneystore muppet craft thing, they'll...
Oh no, we don't have Hardees. We have the West coast version called Carls Jrs. I only know of Hardees, Whataburger, White Castle, Culvers, etc from research into kids meal toys on ebay and elsewhere. (Did I mention Im a huge kids meal toy fan?)
Yeah I read on peterlairds blog that there was a...
I take it you mean non cartoons, and were not including anything Henson related as thats a given. It looks like people are talking more sitcoms and dramas
My favorite comedies of all time that are no longer on the air: are Seinfeld(Im like a religious fanatic for that show), King of Queens, Mad...
Simply amazing. I love both Kermit and Ellen, so this was win win for me.
Fun fact: whats the #1 thing Kermit and Ellen have in common?
They don't age!
Thread I started in 2003 about the possibility Fizzgig is actually in one of the Fraggle Rock episodes with Gobo, as well as other connections to Muppet stuff(also remember Gunge appeared on Dinosaurs)...
I just don't get why they can't use the puppets from the 2008-2009 era, like the muppets.com/youtube/letters to santa period. Those were perfect(cept maybe that odd period where Animal had super crazy fur) For some reason Kermit, Piggy, Rizzo and Pepe have always looked good to me in the post JH...
Oh wow, I thought House of Mouse was late 90's. Well either way I LOVE that, all the 90's Goofy stuff, Timon and Pumba, Mouse Works, and that Goofy short film that aired in theaters. Thats the Disney I love. That Mickey cgi show IS the worst cgi I have ever seen...on par or worse than pirate...
I like to think that our concerns of a lack of merchandise is all in our heads, and that by black friday we'll walk into Disneystore, TRU, etc and there will be an insane treasure trove of Muppet merchandise of all kind that will make us pinch ourselves...well one can wish and dream at least...
I just am hoping the film itself has little winks and nods to us hardcore fans, like the Walter interview. Part of me thinks it's making fun of the more nitpicky fans like us, though Im ok with that.
I forget what Uncle Deadly sounded like originally, so this Uncle Deadly is all good with me...
oh nice, all the interviews in blu ray quality! sucks the sync issue is still there, but very cool. it'll be nice making dvdr gifts for people in blu ray quality of all the exclusive online trailers, interviews, scenes, bonus skits, etc
Oh man, this is now my favorite of the parody teasers next to dragon tattoo and green lantern(which didnt feel so much as a spoof of green lantern but just had really cool footage) I knew they'd release one more spoof trailer!
I can't wait! The trailer looked visionary. And there's clips of his time on Great Space Coaster? I LOVED that show as a little kid, had all the plushes.
If a lot of kids today, and people in general have a kind of "the muppets? oh yeah, i remember big bird and those two old guys" foggy sort of memory about them...how in the bloody heck is a company going to expect the public to remember Fraggle Rock? A show that aired in the early to mid 1980's...
I have a feeling a lot of muppet fans are not aware of post Jim Henson productions or characters, hence a lack of knowledge regarding Pepe. Ive met people who say they love the muppets but arent even aware of anything theyve done in the last decade
Yeah it's like Disney is ashamed of them or something
Im with you on Rowlf! The only Rowlf plushes I have are only a few inches and came from German Mcdonalds circa 2002 and Starbucks circa 2003.
