Thanks Amy! That was kind of my feeling. I do support independent comics, but the Disney brands are really big to handle. Also, I enjoyed your piece for Tough Pigs' 10th! :)
I will admit that if people see me out with another guy friend they automatically think we're dating. Sometimes event he fella I'm out with thinks that too!
As for Bert & Ernie's status. It does bother me that people claim the characters definitely aren't gay. I kind of dig that fact that we...
Hey, Scooter is orange! ;)
Yeah, i get what you mean. i just remember people being freaked out by his "Shalom" line in LTS. I loved that was his one line!
It's no problem. It just kind of startled me. :concern: We don't really see being gay as a choice, but I get what you mean. ;)
I personally want Bert and Ernie to remain exactly as they are. Sesame is best when they keep things simple. People should see what they want to see in characters...
Wow! While I respect your point of view on the topic, the passion in your reply appears to expose some rather angry feelings toward gay people. I hope that's not the case. Many entertainment properties, including the Muppets, would be much different without creative folk from all walks of...
:p:(I won't ever support this weird marriage petition for Bert & Ernie, but it upsets me how many people are rabidly peeved by the notion that the characters might have gay roots. Sunlight is the greatest disinfectant for intolerance. Ultimately I believe in Frank Oz' infamous wink and nod...
I understand your thoughts on it and agree with a lot of your points, but I also understand Disney's reasoning. This is a bad short-term decision for fans, but they seem to be thinking long-term. Either way it's a done deal now. We can only hope for the best. I don't care what the label or if we...
You hit the nail on the head right there with "having thumbed through [the Muppets comic book reissue] at Toys R Us...". How cool is that? It's at froggin' Toys R Us. Now the toddler-like covers and the economy-grade paper makes perfect sense. This reprint is for a different crowd.
Let's face...
You can hear each sample on the Amazon MP3 app if you type in the individual artists and track listings (ie - The Wishing Song The Airborne Toxic Event or Weezer Rainbow Connection) , but the album itself doesn't pop up. Very strange.
Amazon has samples of all 12 songs! Listen HERE
The Wishing Song is my favorite. Loved Gonzo's rendition and I enjoy a band with the talent to make an up-tempo ballad. The album sounds great, but it does dip into a few too many somber moments for my Muppety taste. However, that's just the...
I think these look pretty good. It does irritate me when they separate Bert & Ernie. I don't understand that sort of marketing strategy. Wouldn't both products sell better if pegged next to one another? The SRPs look about right to me, but I'm in San Francisco. Even Target is more expensive in...
Heads up. The DVD will reportedly include a Christmas special set entirely in the village and it will contain a traditionally animated sequence along with the computer animation. Might be worth a NetFlix.
"Captain America" is what you'd expect it to be. It's a solid superhero picture. No more and no less. Chris Evans is wonderful, but the cut-and-paste film is so over-produced that it doesn't give him or the other actors much opportunity for their charisma to shine through. 80%
"The Smurfs" and...
Need I say more about this article?
From "Muppets From Space" and "Alvin & the Chipmunks" to farting animals. I guess he's just taken all of those pesky story elements out of his movies and he's just going with the poop jokes. :grouchy:
