Season 4: a lack of change

Considering the amount of upheaval that the cast and crew faced during the summer of 1979, we should be pleased that they managed to finish that year in the first place. More to come later, I just want to have a longer think about my reply.

The Jim Henson Hour on DVD

The series has not been commercially released on DVD. If you want copies, you need to get in touch with one of the tape traders on the forum.

    The Muppets Ad Libbing?

While the first and last examples are ad-libs, only the last was one that covered a goof.

    Little things we've noticed

Considering that Scooter walks around backstage counting money in front of Kermit (by accident of course), I think Scooter is only too well aware of the reason why Kermit wants to talk to him. The Teresa Brewer is set on a paddleboat, not a train. Think the MGM musical "Show Boat". It...

I did that as well earlier in the year; I too had a bit of a chuckle at the translation.

Question about Crazy Harry and Rowlf

You're wrong on both counts, Dwayne. Rowlf's first appearance was for the Purina Dog Chow commercials made between 1962 and 1963. Crazy Harry (under the name Crazy Donald) first appeared in The Muppets Valentine Show (tx: 01/30/74). The name changed to Crazy Harry for Sex and Violence...

Muppet Show Season 4 coming in 2013

One of the other things that people need to understand is that TV was not made with music rights in mind, simply because there was no reason to; the home video market didn't exist and programme makers (understandably) did not have the foresight to think that one day their programmes would be...

Muppet Show Season 4 coming in 2013

Yes. Eventually. For all we know the people behind the DVDs are plundering the US and UK archives for some material that can be cleared for inclusion for special features.

    Ruth Buzzi trailer

We need to add the trailers to the page on Muppet Wiki about them. I can't remember what that page is either.

Guest Stars: Who Enjoyed It & Who Didn't?

It's been a while since I last saw his episode, but I thought he was a good guest star and I believe he enjoyed his time on the show. That's wrong about Cleese; he spoke fondly of his time in the book "Monty Python: Before and After" saying that in one scene after the Director had called...

What TMS episode is this from?

The clip comes from the doco "Of Muppets & Men" and appears to be either a) rehearsal of a scene that was deleted or b) ad-libbing by Henson and Oz. I'm guessing that the clip dates from c.1978 and particularly the Spike Milligan episode.

    Ruth Buzzi trailer

Here's the 10 sec. Ruth Buzzi TMS trailer and again this one, like the Lola Falana one, aired on a CBS affiliated network - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRwJHHbR7ME Does anyone know much about KNXT?

    Lola Falana trailer

Someone has posted the original 30 sec trailer of Lola Falana's episode of TMS. This appears to come from a US network, which suggests that the trailers aired outside of the UK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=600q0WPx25g
