Nifty! I dearly miss Quisp! My all time fave. Also dearly love Cookie Crisp and Boo Berry/Count Chocula (always reminded me of Morgan Freeman's Dracula on Electric Company)
Actually towards the end he was starting to get a sense of buyer's remorse particularly with how Disney kept trying to go after the Sesame Muppets and seeing how the corporate philosophy of the Disney execs were in contrast with his own.
I don't know what makes me happier...
- That Muppets keep getting embraced by the internet public with these awards almost annually
or
- That none of these had anything to do with either "Life's a Happy Song", "A BaZillion Likes" or "Wocka Wocka 'Value' Packs".
I'm getting in the betting pool as to what the speeches will be...
-Sesame: "Five's Number of the Day!"
-Mahna: Snowths and Mahna Mahna show up to accept award -
Snowths: "Do doo do do do"
Mahna opens his mouth to speak and Snowths shush him, savoring their rare victory!
- Ok Go: OK Go...

Basically an "I'm still here" post since it had been awhile since my last update, but with some fun visuals including a reference that ONLY Muppet fans would get.
Not just "almost", but actually WAS done on Sam & Friends. Believe it or not, the Muppets did improve upon the original. Definately something that was bound to be a UK skit - kinda cute idea but thrown together without much effort to fill that time.
On the contrary - we should ALL write to Disney.
Ten years ago the Muppet fan community was outraged and actively contacted Disney (and Henson since this was before they were owned by Disney) when Disney was releasing the dvds of Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island in fullscreen...
...And yet it never occured to anyone that if they put the great extras on BOTH the dvds and the blurays that they'd make MORE money because of the people who may have passed on buying the dvd because of the lack of bonus features.
It's a simple idea - put out something people really want to...
Surprised? No - this kinda thing is why so many people were leery about Muppets being owned by them way back in the first place.
Severely disappointed? Yes. A lot of us thought they were really doing right by the Muppets and getting pretty expert about pleasing the fanbase...and then they...
Actually if you wanted to wear that to a gathering of Muppet fans, you could always update it - since people will get the references...
You should carry around a pizza - and be Bob the Super Speedy Pizza Monster (complete with flower pot on head and saw)
You don't need a region-free UK edit for those changes (we don'y yet know if there's any other different edits out there) - both versions have been available domestically on official video releases - you just may need to do some hunting for an early (probably vhs) release (on the plus side, it...
Ahhh...i LOVED "Cars" and rolled with laughter at that part! It was so wonderfully fitting that as Kermit's driver, '80's Robot would have had that on the stereo system!
You'll have to let us know what you find - if anything.
There's always a possibility that the versions with a "95 minutes" were just rounding. Or that somewhere between the transfer of formats that the speed could have been affected.
I do know that there have been differences in releases of...
You know, the more i look at that "new logo" for the next Muppet film, i'm more convinced the name of the next movie won't be "The Muppets 2"
...it will be "The Muppets: Bunny Ears"
In all fairness though, a MuppetFest wouldn't be a "luxury item" that one purchases and owns - it's a major all-encompassing expense...
- Cost of ticket. Just getting in the door to begin with. Remember Disney owns the Muppets now - any prices associated with the event would at the very least...
No it doesn't - that's just a way for people to refer to the next movie until it has a "real" name.
Great Muppet Caper was referred by Henson as "Muppet Movie II" until it had its actual name.
I like the idea in theory - but when one considers reality things get messier.
Things are very different these days than they were in 2001 (original Muppetfest) - not only is our economy still a mess but gas prices makes travel prohibitive for too many people for "splurge" type...
