Ever since The Muppet Show's 50th Anniversary special is ahit and it'll most likely become a series, Rizzo the Rat and Bean Bunny are back, and the new Muppet Theme version of Rockin' Roller Coaster is a hit, It looks like for the first time since The Muppet 2011, The Muppets are making a comeback! WHEE! Let's celebrate!

Are we sure the Muppet Show reboot is officially being greenlit for a full season? I suppose it's possible, but there seems to be radio silence on that matter for the last few months. There was some hope it would be announced during upfronts as part of ABC's fall schedule, but that ship has sailed. I guess it could be announced during the Disney fan event in August, if not they'll probably take the win and keep it as a one-off special.

There is zero reason to think there is a series greenlit right now. There have been no announcements and we have all been teased with specials and shows that were "definitely" coming our way.

I hope is that they were busy filming stuff for the roller coaster and now they will re-vist doing a series.

Well, even though it's most likely, but I don't know if it's greenlit yet. The best thing to do is wait until next month on D23. Then we'll see. Let's just give them some time. But in the meantime, I'm glad the Muppets are making triumphant comeback! WHEE!

Before the special I was very cynical about the state of The Muppets but because of the special and it being the first undisputed success for the Muppets in truly a long time. I am optimistic because I don’t see how Disney could not green light a season or even quarterly specials.

Thank you! Great news! However there some 2 problems. 1. I don't necessarily watch the Emmy Awards. I watched it once, and I didn't care for it. 2. I wouldn't get hopes up that'll win any Emmy Awards. I don't know, I'm just being cautious. But even if it didn't win, I'm very sure the 1st season or 5th seadon of The Muppet Show is still on the table.

Geez! The D23 Fan Event happened last night, and Disney still hasn’t announced the reboot of The Muppet Show full series! So The Muppet Show 50th Anniversary is a success for nothing? I thought the Muppets are making a resurgence!😢 Am I missing something?

Yeah, I thought if some news was going to come out about a full season pickup, it would be at D23. They even had a Bunsen and Beaker banner alongside ones with other properties they own.

I think Disney's mentality is they'd rather take the win of a successful one-off special then deal with another Muppets 2015 situation where it starts strong but quickly sinks in the ratings.
