Certainly looks like an updated version of The Muppet Show.

I'll take anything Muppets. I'd rather see a new and different series, but I know general audiences just want what they remember so I'll happily take this too. I just wish the facebook comments weren't full of hate for Kermit's voice.

I was surprised to see that humans make up the audience now. Although I'm not going to complain about a Maya Rudolph and Beautiful Day Monster interaction.

Overall, it looks promising. From the trailer, we see a heavy emphasis on backstage scenes, which is a plus. I do find it amusing, though, that Bobo of all characters says "good to be back" when he was never on the original show.

Great trailer! I laughed several times.

Also, more confirmation of obscure and newer characters. In addition to Bobo, Pepe makes an appearance. And the "arches" opening (whatever you call the part in the theme where the characters sing "most sensational, inspirational..." etc.) is full of surprises. I see:

* Hilda (Did she get a rebuild? It would be very surprising if the original held up this long. Either way, she looks great!)
* Pops (Since Hilda was only S1 and Pops was only S5, it's great to see them both together in the same episode.)
* Robin (It may seem odd to call Robin of all characters obscure, but in the 21st century, all I can recall are his appearances in "Very Merry," a (wordless?) cameo in M11, and one episode of M15. I hope he has more to do this time!)
* Marvin Suggs (Did he appear in M11 or anything else? It's definitely been decades since he had a significant part.)
* Strangepork (Not super obscure, but we haven't seen much from him in a while.)
* Mildred (It's been so long since we've seen her that it took me a while to remember her name!)
* Miss Mousey (?!? Awesome!)

In full disclosure, I don't have Disney Plus or a streaming service that shows ABC, and I don't have a strong antenna at home. But I'm so excited that I'm trying to look into ways to get a stronger signal here. It hasn't really mattered before, but this is worth it! :smile:

Suggs did have a cameo in Muppets 2011 with a bit of dialogue. Wow, I didn't notice Hilda was back until you mentioned it, that's quite a comeback after (according to Muppet wiki) a 40 year absence.

I was going to continue my sabbatical leave of absence, but after seeing a lot've positive solid buzz recently, I decided to come back, but with caution. Anyway, I'm so excited for this! I hope it's a hit and becomes a full series one year later! Because I've been worried about the fate of the muppets since Muppets Most Wanted, The Muppets 2015, and Muppets Now didn't do well.
