Oh, I agree that it wouldn't make sense historically, but I have a feeling such a story credit would be used more in a marketing sort of way, as if Jim was somehow giving the movie a morbidly vague seal of approval...especially since Disney can't bill the characters as "Jim Henson's Muppets"...
That's more than likely what they're up to, as they still want to convey this idea that they have somehow acquired the magic that created the Muppets as opposed to just the characters and the physical puppets.

Sigh...another person whose significant contributions helped make the Muppets the endearing, touching, entertaining characters that they are is gone.
Granted Jerry more or less retired from the Muppets several years ago, but this loss is perhaps as spiritually crippling to the characters as...
I'm waiting. After all, I already have the VHS version.
Buying a DVD with extras but a modified aspect ratio is kinda like buying only half a DVD. It would be similar to getting a restored movie that was in letterbox, but edited.

If there are any Chicago-area fans out there, both the Sam Goody and the Suncoast at Yorktown had Shifty-Eyed Sam. The latter also had the Marvin repaint.

The fifteen DVDs were originally released via mail order by Time Life in 2001 and 2002. Shortly thereafter, Sony obtained the rights to rerelease these DVDs at retail outlets (in other words, actual stores). In fact, Sony's original plan was to go as far as releasing twenty different volumes...
I'm kinda curious about this supposed Jim Henson end credit. Would this be as in a Jim Henson logo card or just a "Characters created by Jim Henson" text credit (which is probably a contractual condition anyway)?

All this makes me wonder something. I am going completely on memory here, but didn't the opening titles to "Fraggle Rock" say something along the lines of "Starring Jim Henson's Muppets?" If so, would they now have to change the opening?
