Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
I really like the opening of the movie where Gonzo has the nightmare of Noah rejecting him from the Ark because there's only one of him. It's a touching scene and makes you feel sad for Gonzo.
Here's the last Sequelcast we're doing on the Muppets. Hope everyone has had fun listening to the various shows we did on the different movies. This one is a broad overview of a bunch of the Muppet TV shows.
Sequelcast 101: The Muppet Show, Muppet Babies, and More!
Thanks for liking these. We talk about a good bit of them. Thrasher has seen a lot more of the shows than I have. I grew up with Muppet Babies, the Fraggle Rock cartoon, and the various movies for the most part. The Frog Prince Muppet special scared the crap out of me as a kid, especially...
The Red Book looks really interesting. It makes me wonder what Jim Henson would do if he were still alive today with all the modern technology available. I've seen some of the memorial tape on YouTube and found it very sad, but well done.
Sequelcast 100: The Muppets (2011) (GUEST: Josh Long, co-host of More Than One Lesson)
Just one more Muppet show on the Sequelcast to go. Next week, we're looking at the various Muppet TV shows, animated shows, and made for TV movies in one episode!
I'm not sure who drew this piece of art originally, but actor Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, Army of Darkness) posted this on his twitter feed. It's Bruce Campbell's character Ash from the Evil Dead trilogy fighting off a horde of zombie muppets. Apologies if this has been posted on here before.
Thanks very much, Reevz1977. That's so kind. It has been fun doing them, although a bit exhausting. Covering a franchise that has more than 3 or 4 movies requires stamina.
Drtooth, I think you're right with the the theory on "The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made" and Frank Oz having sour grapes. I'm hoping "The Cheapest" gets made as well at some point. I loved the new "The Muppets" film, but I am more excited to see what new territories the new film will explore...
Thanks, FrackleFan2012. I'll have to pull some of those up on the PS3 on my TV. I recall the Garth Brooks episode, but can't remember much of the others.
My wife was wondering if any of the Muppets Tonight seasons are on DVD or not in the US? She really enjoyed that show growing up. I know the first 3 seasons of The Muppet Show are available, but wasn't sure about the newer series.
Bein' Green is more about Kermit's condition, although both songs manage to combine optimism and wistfulness in a way few songs do. That being said, I love both songs, especially the Ray Charles cover of Bein' Green.
