THanks Again! Tiny update testing the fit of his teeth. I think I'm going to spread the top ones a bit further apart.

I don't mind at all. You would embed it in the under structure (the foam or plastic whatever you built the body of your puppet out of), I'd suggest either just above the paws or just under the knee. However, on further reflection I think the fishing line would be a better solution. Not only...

You could tether the front and back legs together with fishing line or perhaps an acrylic rod so they move in tandem.

Got a couple more done before we had to deliver the lot! All together now!

Thank you for the enthusiasm. The process was inspired by a crafts channel I follow on facebook. Her method made a mouse, but I saw that it was easily modified. Surpreyes!

More soldiers! Actually the next 15 or so will be commissioned work. A Special needs class is bidding farewell to a student and I was asked to make puppets! The wife even got in on the act:

Another update! Next up we'll be doing her body!

We got her skull constructed, and tested the fit of her eyes.

These have become like a meditative act for me. It's an organic process that I'm really enjoying.

We got invited to a birthday party for a friend's daughter. So, my wife and I made her some sock puppets! And here they are on my huge hands: Not the usual fare I know, but we had fun with them.

So we made some more progress on her. I think I'm getting better at patterning these heads, but I'm sure there was a better way of doing this one.

While I was patterning the skin for my first puppet my wife leaned really hard on my shoulder and asked, " When do I get one?" Same rules apply as with Brewster it's gonna be a while before we complete her.
