    My puppets

I love different-sized pupils in a puppet. Gives them a good energy. Curious about the puppet that currently looks more like a claw in the third and fourth picture. Great mouth range on it and I love the lip shape you got out of it.

    Finding eyes!

That may be a tough find this time of year.

    Finding eyes!

I'm looking for white plastic spheres -- something more solid than a ping-pong ball. I was at a workshop this weekend where they used these puppets for the puppeteer training and would like eyes similar to these on a puppet I'm working on. Any idea where I'd find them? My usual sources have...

Fraggle rock sewing patterns! Anyone made these?

Gobo_Tron, I might love you. Thanks!

Oops - Hot Glue on Black Felt?

I'd try the glue on some discarded felt and marker that before trying it on the real puppet, but I've Sharpied over a different type of glue a number of times on my puppets and it has worked like a charm. I find it's better to fix it even if no one will ever see just because *I* know it's there...

Your Thoughts: "Jim Henson: The Biography" by Brian Jay Jones

I am very curious who it was Hunt badmouthed but my internet search turned up no leads.

Your Thoughts: "Jim Henson: The Biography" by Brian Jay Jones

I'm the reverse on the Jim Henson Hour. I loved the Storyteller bits but found the overuse of tech and green screen and computers kinda killed the joy in the Muppet parts of it. Instead of getting good story and compelling character relationships, we got flashy bits and a CGI puppet who didn't...

Your Thoughts: "Jim Henson: The Biography" by Brian Jay Jones

Fantastic book. I wasn't really aware of how distracted Jim was by technology. I kind of wish that drive had been a little less powerful since I think it worked against him a bit too much, leading to some of Jason Segel's complaints of even the Muppets getting gimmicky.

    Patterns to Canada

I've got two in the works based on that round-headed puppet pattern from your website, but I found a slight variation that showed the mouthplate, which helped. I've only been doing this two months, so I like having things spelled out for me. :)

    Patterns to Canada

I also had success with patterns from James Kemp. Here's one I built from his Oblong pattern -- he emailed the pattern to me.

    Weekly Puppetry News Round-Up

I've been enjoying the News Round-Ups! I've only been making puppets for two months, but it's nice to see another Torontonian really going for it.
