I think what Luke means is to search for that particular book on ebay and see what it's generally selling for. Right now there aren't any on ebay, but I can tell you that on amazon shops, this title (Down on the Farm with Grover) used in good condition is going for about 21 cents. High and low...

I was there too! Btw, book signings do not cost money. It's just an opportunity for the store to make money from the book sales. And from what I've seen (one girl was holding at least five books), it works! :)
