It's probably just PR talk, but I really don't get what they mean by "they're having difficulties coming up with a premise". Usually that's something you hear when a show is in development. That's not something you hear about a reboot of an iconic show that has already aired the pilot.

Or you could be happy that a 70 year old puppet franchise is still around and making new content in 2026? What other puppet franchises from 70 years ago are still active?

The 9 to 5 number is spot-on, I can totally envision that.

Curry gave quite possibly the greatest human performance in a Muppet film, an absolute legend.

I'm just finding out now that Jaye P Morgan was also in Home Alone 2, so many members of that cast have passed away this year. Anyone who hasn't seen her Muppet Show episode really should, it is very underrated, one of the show's best episodes.

I will give Disney this, they really did try quite a few times with the franchise. They just quickly learned that audiences are incredibly fickle. The 2011 film did reasonably well, then the sequel brought in less than half the revenue. The ABC series opened with 9 million viewers, then was down...

Could it be a cost issue? I mean getting enough big-name celebrities to do a full season of shows can't be cheap.

Yeah, I thought if some news was going to come out about a full season pickup, it would be at D23. They even had a Bunsen and Beaker banner alongside ones with other properties they own. I think Disney's mentality is they'd rather take the win of a successful one-off special then deal with...

I was shocked and saddened to hear the news. I can't imagine what Chris is going through. He has been such a cheerful presence on the series for almost 20 years now, and I'm glad Christy was able to appear as well. May she rest in peace.

From what I can tell, it was just Floyd, Janice, and Animal, and they were just playing the music, they didn't sing or anything. I do wonder why Dr. Teeth and Zoot were absent.

Are we sure the Muppet Show reboot is officially being greenlit for a full season? I suppose it's possible, but there seems to be radio silence on that matter for the last few months. There was some hope it would be announced during upfronts as part of ABC's fall schedule, but that ship has...

Not entirely surprising, but it looks like a theatrical release is off the table. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/netflix-sesame-street-movie-rights-1236626671/

I found this clip on Muppet Wiki that is said to be from fall 1991 featuring Gonzo and Scooter on a UK morning show. I was not previously aware of Richard Hunt performing Scooter past The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson, so I'm surprised to find material of him performing his Muppet Show characters...

I heard this song when it first came out, but I just found out through Muppet Wiki that "Can You Feel Me" by Childish Gambino (featuring his son) samples the "African Alphabet" song from Sesame Street. Pretty crazy to see Joe Raposo receive a writing credit on a song 35 years after his passing.

Wow, I thought Frank was retired from puppeteering, this was fun to see.
