I'm definitely interested in this endeavor, I always thought it was mostly the pupils that made this replica not look right... That and all the excess "skin" in the neck area...
Any updates on this?
http://forum.muppetcentral.com/showthread.php?t=42367 That's the link to a thread where I posted some pics of my Gonzo with different clothes. Thrift stores are a GOLD MINE for our replicas! :)
Just thought I'd share some pics of my MR Gonzo wearing a sweater vest I found at a thrift store this weekend:
What do you guys think?
I have to admit it was weird sifting through baby clothes for a doll... But I knew I needed to find a sweater vest for the blue one to really seal...
Bummer. I guess it's not that big of a deal, I love him pretty much the way he is... I've read in another thread that when re-applying the pupils, to lower them a bit to give his eyelids the look of being more open... That's about as far as I plan to go with modding him.
Though, I was...
Thanks for the info...
Is there a preferred method of getting his eyelids to "emote" without ruining the material? I don't really want to pin them back...
I don't have a problem with the material, in fact I prefer to have the photo puppets be as authentic as possible, materials and all. I'm fine with the nose too.
The issue I have is, why make the eyelids movable at ALL, especially if the material is authentic, which could easily tear.
I'd...
I just got my Gonzo last week, love him! But I have a question about the eyelids:
What's the point in making them movable, if they can't be adjusted?
These photo puppet replicas aren't meant to be toys, they're meant for display purposes, and as far as the instructions are concerned...
I just got him! HE'S AMAZING! I'll take pics if anyone's curious... I think i'm fine with his eye placement...
Also of note: he's 2500/2500! I got the LAST Gonzo! WOOO!
I wonder if they took any special care with the last one...
Anyway I love him. Anyone who was unsure, DO IT! He's only...
I caved and ordered him! Can't beat that price... Think he'll ever get any lower?
Also, was wondering if anyone who owns him has had any luck finding more "modern gonzo"ish clothes... As in, has anyone had any luck finding an argyle sweater vest or something closer to what he's worn recently?
When did you order yours Neil565? I ordered mine with 2 day shipping Amazon Prime on the 13th, and it still hasn't shipped for me...:sympathy:
On my account page it says it will ship by the 25th! that's a week of processing!
Anyone know if it's just out of stock or something?
Hmm.. Can anyone with Amazon experience help me out with this situation:
I ordered the Fraggle Rock complete season from Amazon on the 13th, it said estimated ship date the 25th! I ordered using free two day shipping with Amazon Prime too...
Does that mean it's out of stock or something...
Just got my Kermit at work! OH EM GEE! He's absolutely amazing... I'm sure you guys know. I'm sorry if I'm just cluttering things up in here but I just had to add my thoughts. AMAZING.
I'm finding though, that I really have to work his neck to get it to look like there's a "hand" in there...
Thanks man! It was truly amazing seeing all of those original works of art in person. It's one thing to watch them over and over on dvd (which I do;)! ) and completely another to see them in real life. If you EVER get a chance to see this exhibit near you, CANCEL ALL PLANS and see this.
