Zack and Wes,
I was the girl with the rainbow coat and skirt- and I think pigtails (long blonde hair) and looked amused at everyone's puppet antics. I should have spoken more or brought a puppet along or something. I was just in awe of everyone's talents! I'm not easily amused and I was so...
Wes-
Were you the guy with Cecelia?!?
That was so much fun to watch everyone with the puppets. I wish I had brought mine!
The lady with the marionette was hilarious and those other two women with puppets were so funny too.. Oh goodness!!
Kevin,
I was in your group.. It was very weird... to just be all cut like that. I thought some of the people were very talented.
Kevin Clash looked bored out of his mind.
Kristen (number #47- Rainbow coat)
So exciting!
Todd hasn't called me back yet-- what gives? Anyhow, does anybody know of a website with muppet voices on it- like little clips that we can listen to to help us practice? I can do Prairie Dawn and Elmo, but I'm sure with a little listening over and over again I can try to nail some...
I wish i was going- I unfortunately have to work those days. Garh! And my work conflicts with the puppet making workshop at Haliburton as well...
Work!
Thank you so much for the information about the hot glue gun. Next time I can get out to Michaels (its a bit of a trek on public transit) I'll invest in one of the attachment glue guns. (Currently I am using the dollarama version)
Hey Y'all,
So I have the ostrich feathers and I remember reading that somebody glues each feather individually. Now- what glue should I use? I am addicted to the hot glue gun but I have a feeling that for this that won't suffice.
What would be a good idea?
Thanks,
Kristen

I worked at a Historical Park the past summer and I found historical puppets. They're crocheted and dirty.
But they're lovable.. I guess.
They don't have working mouths or anything really. Just two arms. haha
Wow! Thanks for all the hints and tips-
Buck Beaver- do you know where to get the ostrich feathers here in T.O?
I'm taking my puppet down with me, and perhaps we can go shopping together.
Wee!
Kristen
Thanks so much for the suggestions! I haven't had the time to peruse the garment district here in Toronto yet for the ostrich feathers but I will have the time in NY.
The reason I asked about JH's studio was the last time I was in New York this man is like "woah girl! you make puppets?" and...
For our children's television final production we made our puppets out of felt- big mistake... the felt got all gross trying to attach props to the puppets and it got all nubby everywhere. It was also very comparable in price to artic fleece which is what I would much rather use.
Right now...
Jason,
Thanks for the tips!
I went to Lewiscraft and the girl there told me to try chinatown, or Michaels.
My little puppet is coming along. I hope to post pics soonly.
Take care,
Kristen
