    Your Thoughts: Emmet Otter Musical

Steve, As you noted on your show, the people from the Operahouse were a bit off in their description of why the name change occurred. In all actuality, the name was shortened to allow for the show to have longer runs without "Christmas" in the title.

    Your Thoughts: Emmet Otter Musical

Emmett Otter second season Hey all, Just checking in. Last Wednesday I went to the second season of the Emmett Otter musical at the Goodspeed Operahouse in East Haddam, CT. A few changes: first off the play is now simply "Jim Henson's Emmett Otter". This was explained to us later as the...

    SST 40th Anniversary Event

I think it was mentioned in the thread earlier, but yes that did happen with the fan asking Frank Oz. He was pretty graceful in his turning her down and with his explanation as to why he doesn't do the voices "like a party trick". Unfortunately, much of the time for the Q&A was burned by people...

    SST 40th Anniversary Event

You know, I am pretty sure that the casual observer of the lecture would likely walk away thinking that Frank Oz was a big stiff for not doing his Miss Piggy voice for that woman who requested it. I talked with a few hardcore fans and we all agreed that in reality, that was just the...

    SST 40th Anniversary Event

If you were the one wearing the blue "Super Grover is my Wingman" tee, I was the guy in the orange pull-over who complimented it while waiting in the line for Michael & Sonia.

    SST 40th Anniversary Event

Telly in the plastic bag! How could I have forgotten to mention that? Anyone else think in retrospect how great Marty would be on Puppet Up! ? Once again, Oscar.... Boy did Spinney have me howling with laughter. Anyone have issues with that **** snow squall on the way home? One minute you...

    SST 40th Anniversary Event

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to meet up with the board-folks due to being with a rather good sized group myself. I agree that this night was really special and I was honored to have made it. I thought the videos of Richard's performances were really great and to hear near 1000 people rolling...

Oscarfan: Especially a bunch of people much older than you who LIKE SESAME STREET (LoL). I will bring my book just in case, who knows what will happen. If Jim Henson taught us anything... it's that anything is possible!

    SST 40th Anniversary Event

I am glad to hear that Michael will be doing a signing. I will bring my copy. I had heard from William Patterson University that there will NOT be an opportunity for signings with the panel members, as they are charging through the nose for a meet and greet opportunity and through their...

Your Thoughts: Street Gang – The Complete History of Sesame Street

What a wonderful read! Very informative history of Sesame Street and I feel I have so much more understanding and appreciation for the work that went into creating and maintaining this show. I also was very interested in reading how the changes made to "the Street" to attempt to counter the...

What was the last Henson thing you bought?

Gonzo and Rizzo or Rizzo and Pepe

I think there are two dynamics in these pairings. Gonzo and Rizzo have that opposite sides of the same coin thing going in my mind. They balance each other out. Gonzo keeps Rizzo out of trouble (sort of), and Rizzo balances out Gonzo's eccentricities (sort of). I agree they are masterful in...

    Square One Television.

I remember one of the Mathnet episodes had a young Yeardly Smith as the "girl in trouble". Later on she would turn up as the voice of Lisa Simpson.
