Grover, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Mando and Rosita from Sesame Street, and Lola from Plaza Sésamo, visited the set of "Despierta America" on Univision, the Spanish-speaking American television network.
In the program they interacted with the presenters, who spoke mostly Spanish, while the...
Indeed they were confused. Even if the character didn't resemble a bird, like in Mexico, which at the time didn't have a Bird but a Dragon, in the dubbing of FTB they used the local equivalent. I saw that in the Spanish and Portuguese dubs of FTB, who called Big Bird, Abelardo and Garibaldo...
I believe, in your sentence, one of the words "Spanish" should be "English". But it also makes sense the way it is, ie., if he forgot his Spanish when growing up in the U.S. which it's not unusual.
I agree and Disagree with you. I agree, in that the character is scripted. So It doesn't really...
I am sorry, but they chose the guy with the worst Spanish. Actually all the candidates in the callback (in the second video) had perfect accent, as good as native speakers, except for one. And the only one who sounded like as he had to learn it in school very late in life is the one they chose...
Instead of those uninteresting collages of interviews with actors they should have sneaked the nominated song as well. They even had extra time for Woody Allen not showing up to accept his award.
Yes, is a bit strange in many ways. For example the very first sounds in the song, which sounded like monkey cries to me and I used to think that they were made by people or synthesizers, are actual drums and have that very peculiar sound.
By the way, I heard the soundtrack from The Muppets...
I don't think that the song Real in Rio is a "monstruosity". It's a "Batucada" so is written in the style of the music used for the Carnival of Rio (Mardi Gra), and its very faithful to the style. In Batucadas the emphasis is on the drums, and I love the drums in this. I don't find it...
That's a show i would love to do one day! But I'll do it mostly puppets except for Alice, and a few others!
As for the slinky effect I would use a hose.
Congaratulations!
I forgot! another option is to glue strong magnets on your detachable parts and put metal pieces in varios areas of your puppet where the parts are going to be attached.
Hope this help!
I have used velcro (the "male" side) glued to the detachable parts. But you need a very "hairy" fabric to be able to attach the parts. I used felt and it worked well. Polar fleece didn't work very well for the velcro. Maybe the "industrial strenght" velcro I saw at office depot could. Take a...
Once I met one of the performers in the show, never occur to me to ask him how they move their mouths, but as he was telling me that he was really a dancer, and that's the profile they search when hiring this kind of performers, I will agree with the about comments that mouths are synchronized...
Well, I made the same question a while ago in this same forum. The general answer was the smaller the better as it is easier to manipulate, with the exception of full body puppets. I made the mistake of doing my first puppets very big, and with the weight of the fur, the wigs and the clothing...
I like the voices! They actually sound closer to the original dubbed voices from the TV Show and Plaza Sesamo, as opposed to the NEW dubbed voices. By the way, I hate Disney's ridiculous policy of using only English names instead of they localizations. Since the first appearance in 1972 Plaza...
