Alas. Jenniwin, DVD companies seem to be pretty useless at this whole idea of UK Fraggle Rock episodes. Okay - someone brought out a 12 episode DVD - fine and dandy - but then. someone else took over and have so far brought out about 3 DVDs all with only about 2 UK episodes on - and guess what -...
Nothing wrong at all with watching the whole season - but, to make life easier, I'll let you in on the secret. Righty-ho - you're thinking of 'Gobo's Discovery' - and there's two quite cool quotes from Boober when he's referring to Gobo's state of depression - hope they help:
1 - Boober: I've...
But if Tosh was a little girl - she'd be a fragglette - right? And Wembley was a fragglette - or is. Marjorie and a few others call him 'little fragglette' and stuff. So I don't think that matters.
It would've been nice for Richard Hunt I guess, but then he was everywhere with Junior and other characters like The Genie and a few Doozers and Mudwell and - loads of them, so maybe he would have been too busy for his own fraggle.
I think either Tosh or Lou - maybe Tosh rather than Lou.
I always wondered things like that. There's also one episode where Jerry Nelson doesn't actually perform Gobo - he just does the voice. It's in Space Frog Follies and Rob Mills, apparently, does all the movements, and Jerry just does the voice. I don't know why though.
That's one of the reasons why I like Fraggle Rock so much - because it's a stand against conflict - just like Muppets in general is a stand against prejudice and stuff like that. I'm grateful that Fraggle Rock was made and that we can still see it and share it - and like you, it stands for the...
Hmm - interesting point - yet, strangely true. The Gorgs do appear on the cover of one of the 80's UK 'Big Box' series - but that's about it. And I know you can get PVC Gorg figures - hmm - poor Gorgs.
I don't think Dave Goelz went globe-hopping with Uncle Matt. If you look on the Down at Fraggle Rock documentory, Jim Henson says something about with the help of our international workshops etc, Matt can travel all over the globe. So I think it might've been a different puppeteer for each...
I don't know if the world will ever fall into peace - but we need to learn to live in peace- EVERYONE - that is - otherwise the world's going to be a horrible place.
Effraylo - to your beard and moustache thing - Jim Henson also does Concincing John and he has a moustache - but not a beard, so mayve he just shared his features out amongst his characters. I can;t imagine Cantus with a moustache - lol - unless it was one of those really long ones that meets...
Hmm - no I'm not sure where Murray comes from. I just did a search for it, but didn't get very much. Just a few randoms - so I'm not sure why he's called Murray. What's also interesting is Murray is second in command - the grouchy one - so that leads me to think that his name has to have some...
Well - Balsam the Minstrel, as far as I know might've been named after Phil Balsam.I'm not sure, but I think he wrote some of the songs or music for Fraggle Rock. I know he had something to do with it.
Also - Minstrels were a traditional part of story-telling a long time ago - not sure how...
Just a thought - but isn't that a waste of a DVD - I mean, only two episodes - and they're episodes that the R2 people got with the 12-ep DVD. I mean I think it's general agreement in the Fraggle-Fan World that those who have R2 brought the 12-episode DVD - so who among us is going to buy a DVD...
