Rotten Tomatoes ranks the top Disney movies.

This list is a bit odd to me.

In honor of Disney's Princess and the Frog Rotton Tomatoes ranks what they consider to be the best Disney movies so far.


Rotten Tomatoes ranks the top 48 Disney movies (non-Pixar). I'm surpised by some of this list, like Home on the Range ranked higher than I thought it would be, I actually thought it would be last and some of the more "classic Disney" like Fan and Fancy Free and "Make Mine Music" have ranked really low.

Just wondering any other thoughts on this list?

awesome good to look at. I kinda wish Fun and Fancy Free got higher on the list but, I won't lose sleep over that fact.

I can't believe The Little Mermaid didn't make the top 10. I am a little bummed by that.

Exactly... home on the Range is doo doo. I think enjoyed it, and I like that they finally stuck it to Dreamworks for a change (One of the Cows calls the horse the "Spirit of the Ci-Moron") but over all, I didn't know what the heck I was watching. And I really hate that Treasure Planet is high up on that list as well. But I do agree with their top pick. I think Pinocchio is my favorite of the classic Disney movies, right up there with Jungle Book. I like it much, much more than even their Peter Pan and Snow White.

I was surprised Fantasia wasn't number one. It is not my favorite but it was so critically acclaimed I thought for sure it would be number 1

Here's something about Fantasia...

when it first came out it was panned by both high class critics, saying the animations cheapened the musical pieces, and the common movie goer who felt it was too sophisticated. It got its respect in time, but it really wasn't all that big when it first came out.

Like you all with Home on the Range, I'm surprised the likes of Chicken Little and Meet the Robinsons are on the list...

But, I'm happy to see some of my favorites made the list just the same...Both Rescuers movies, Oliver and Company, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Robin Hood to name a few.

liked the messages of Chicken Little and Robinsons. They were far from perfect films and could have been more ambitious, but I enjoyed them. But then again, there are a lot of MFS fans here and I just don't understand the popularity of that train wreck. To each their own.

The list is interesting because this system leaves off live-action/animated films like Roger Rabbit and Song of the South as well as full-fledged cartoons like the Ducktales movie.

I am also suprised by Robin Hood being so far down on the list.
