Yeah, another great lost this miserable year. And these things always come in threes.....

But let's not forget that he was the man with the muscle that got Snoopy animated in the first place (outside of the first commercials and interstitials). And has since been a part of the Peanuts family.

RIP, Bill Melendez, thank you for giving Snoopy his voice and for helping out Charles with his wonderful Peanuts cartoons.

Most importantly, he lead a strike that unionized a lot of animators for Disney and eventually Warner Brothers.... so he's not just a giant in the Peanuts world, he's a giant in the world of animation.

I could so see that in an editorial, with Snoopy leading Mickey, Bugs, and others in a union march! XD

Well it depends how tight they are. LOL

It's LOSE not LOOSE. LOOSE is like a screw is LOOSE
I believe we understood what was meant, despite the wrong word being used, you know. XD

And to answer that question, I really don't know many we'll lose, because you go when you go, no if's, and's, or but's.

Oh man, I remember watching that old special, "You Don't Look 40, Charlie Brown!" where they revealed Bill as the voice of Snoopy. I've always remembered that, and recently found the special again on Amazon. Really takes me back, especially the song at the end:

"Through the years, you've never let me down
You turned my life around, the sweetest days I've found
I've found with you ... Through the years
I've never been afraid, I've loved the life we've made
And I'm so glad I've stayed, right here with you
Through the years

I can't remember what I used to do
Who I trusted, who I listened to before
I swear you taught me everything I know
Can't imagine needing someone so
But through the years it seems to me
I need you more and more

Through the years, through all the good and bad
I knew how much we had, I've always been so glad
To be with you ... Through the years
It's better every day, you've kissed my tears away
As long as it's okay, I'll stay with you
Through the years

Through the years, when everything went wrong
Together we were strong, I know that I belong
Right here with you ... Through the years
I never had a doubt, we'd always work things out
I've learned what love's about, by loving you
Through the years"
Thats one of my favorite TV specials EVER. I had it on tape years ago, recorded it when it first aired, the tape later broke and only within the past year found a copy on Ebay (I never knew they commercially released it). I was SO happy to own/see this again. Yes, Bill will be missed.

I know we all know what they meant, I'm just a stickler for good grammar/spelling.

Oh no! This it terrible news! He will truly be missed but his work will live on!

I am too, but when a minor mistake is made once, I don't jump on people for it.
I've noticed you kind do...:stick_out_tongue:
