The Olympics are special because they are a chance for everyone to put aside their political differences and come together for a few weeks. Despite the competitive aspect of the games, they unite countries all over the world for a few weeks.

I never said I didn't like it, It's just there's so much hype going into it. I am a fan of the U.S. Basketball team if that counts.

I couldn't care less about the sports aspect, but it is nice to see people from all over the world come together in a friendly, competitive way to support world unity and friendship.

Escept we're still bombing the heck out of the Middle East and Russia and Georgia (no, not the one in the US) are fighting each other.

I still think we should look out for China's role in all this. There's some eerie aspect that somehow brings to mind the 1936 Olympic Games in Hitler's Germany... Not compairing China with the terrible actions of Hitler... but they ain't angels, neither. The attrocities they have committed all in the name of their Pseudo-Communist government.

It's a beautiful country, and I have nothing against it... just it's sketchy government.

The Olympics is about unity, achievement and tradition. Yeah, it can get irritating when regular shows are bumped later, but it's a rare occasion for such a small inconvenience.

Olympians don't do this for the money. There's a lot more cash in the world to be made requiring a lot less work. I see the Olympics as all the world's rooms coming together in a common area. It's like the world's Christmas holiday where representatives have to meet up with one another and get along for a little while.

And, of course, there are the excellent athletic achievements. I have never understood curling, but these games don’t have that.
