I recently remembered this incident during my Year 9 days in my old country town.

I was in my Manual Arts Woodwork class one lesson and all of us were standing around in a half circle in front of the blackboard while the teacher was talking about something related to our lessons to us. I was the second last student on one end and while teacher was speaking the boy next to me on the very end suddenly turned to face me putting his hand up to his ear to direct my attention towards there and said in a low whisper "Look. I have an ear-ring."
Apparently he naively thought the teacher wouldn't notice him showing off his ear-ring to me, but he did. For what seemed an endless moment in time there was silence as everybody stared at him sticking his hand and ear up into my face and I was so taken aback I was silent myself.
Then the teacher roared out "Come and stand over here next to me for awhile, you stupid idiot. When I'm giving a lesson you pay attention to what I'm saying and you do not distract other students either."
So he had to stand up the front humiliated in the eyes of the rest of us while teacher finished his lecture to us.

And you'd never guess what sort of "ear-ring" he wanted so badly to show me that he couldn't wait for a more appropriate moment. A staple, like you'd find inside any stapler, not literally stuck in his ear lobe. But rather tied to a few strands of his hair and hanging just right next to his ear lol:big_grin:

The characters some of us went to school with.

Ahaha! Funny story, Marty!

But the teacher calling a student a "stupid idiot", in front of the whole class? Didn't that cause any trouble?

Well to be honest since you asked Snowth, those weren't really the exact words he used.

He actually called him something like boofhead. But I wasn't sure of the spelling. Maybe it's an Australian slang word for idiot or at least silly fool that you don't hear very often anymore?

But I'm pleased you got a good laugh out of the story.

I have a funny high school memory. I was ranting about something in the cafeteria to my friend and WHAM! I knocked over my milk and it spilled onto my lap. The funny thing was I didnt notice it was spilling until my friend said something, which was like, 20 seconds after I actually knocked it over. Luckily I had gym after lunch so I just wore my gym clothes home. It wasnt funny then but it was funny now. I went to the office after it happened and explained to them and they laughed at me!

Amazing Sargey that you could actually have milk dripping into your lap and not feel the dampness in your clothes immediately.

I don't blame them for laughing at you in the office. (Even I may have myself :embarrassed: ) but at least we can all enjoy a laugh at it now.

I'm glad nobody in the office laughed at me one day in middle school when I was in the hallway heading for my next class, when suddenly... BOMBS AWAY... if you know what I mean...
