Lol, I've been watching that classic commerical a lot lately! Amazing, McDonald's commercials used to have nothing to do with the food. Just about the warm feeling you associated with the restaurant. That's what makes a good commerical, that when you think of a product, you associate it with a good feeling.

And there aren't any presents under the tree yet? What's up with that?

Oh well, I don't really care... I actually requested I not get anything this year, but my parents refused. They DID tell ME not to get THEM anything this year, though...

I just got to see Muppet Family Christmas at The Paley Center for Media (formerly The Museum of TV and Radio) the other night. Thankfully, it was the uncut version. I still remember seeing the special on TV years ago, such an exciting night! Just wanted to share a few moments that stood out for me:

1. Sam the Eagle: "...Why am I here?" :attitude:

2. Animal: "PEACE ON EARTH! GIVE ME PRESENTS! :halo:

3. Animal on the phone: "Oh...pig..."

4. David Rudman as Miss Piggy's photographer

5. Fozzie: "We always have rats and chickens!" That is classic Muppets!

6. A rat carrying a chicken out the door...I don't want to know, lol.

7. Doc's expression as the Electric Mayhem plays "Jingle Bell Rock" LOL

8. Rowlf's "Truck/Exhausted" joke - Ever notice Rowlf is one of the few animal Muppets who actually acts like an animal and not a person (chasing cars, being paper trained etc)?

9. The scene where Gonzo and the Turkey are fighting over Camilla...and if you look closely Zoot is sleeping in the background, nice attention to detail!

10. Scooter laughing at the Newsman's misfortune before being concerned about the storm! Lol

11. Grover: "NOTE how the hand never touches the spoon!"

12. Ernie: "Mama in her kerchief...that's you Bert"
Bert: "I know, I know"

13. Lips' brief cameo as Doc slams him with the door (better than nothing, right?)!

14. Bert and Ernie's conversation with Doc, just because I distinctly remember it from my childhood, hehe.

15. Oscar: "Anyone see her out there?" Odd yet very sweet how Oscar seems so concerned about Miss Piggy

15. Floyd: "Yeah, and she don't look bad...for a pig!" (Now see, it's a funny put down, but not cruel. And you can tell they really like Piggy in reality. That's what missing nowadays).

16. Miss Piggy's dogs pulling her sleigh...so cute!

17. I could be wrong but is Doc dressed as a Canadian Mountie?

18. Piggy's rendition of "Home for the Holidays." It is a CRIME that this moment was cut!

19. All the discussion about making room for ALL the Muppets who keep coming in. In a way, rather reminisent of the Nativity story where there's no room at the inn. But thankfully, there's room at Emily Bear's house, hehe!

20. When the Fraggles arrive during the Carol Sing, Gobo is the first to peer out and then lets the other know it's OK, which is very in character for his explorer nature.

21. Snowman: "Sing the sad of heart to cheer!" Rather comforting here, since you know his big number was also cut from the edited version

22. Robin's cute little frog legs, hehe (Definitely wins the cute wars!)

23. Jim's cameo...one time when I wouldn't mind helping with the dishes!

Lol, too true! And it's great how Big Bird is still so calm and straight faced throughout the whole interaction, hehe.

And how when the Chef first sees Big Bird, we hear thunder and lightning! Kinda creepy, lol.

I lalso love how the whole special is basically all the characters sitting around chatting and hanging out, because that is pretty much what you really do at Christmas! Lol Pretty bold of the team to think they could build a whole special out of that concept, but then of course, they always managed the unexpected!
