Congrats on graduating from undergrad Erin. BTW: Did you go looking for Jane now that she knows about us stalkers here at the RHLC? :shifty: :flirt:

Well, I wouldn't say stalkers, since we all appear to be law-abiding Muppet fans around here. And since it was coming up on noon, we were a little more interested in finding lunch (there's a good deli on the town's main street - the bagels are to die for).

It was neat to see the area where Richard grew up, went to school, delivered the Bergen Record and got his start as a puppeteer. And it is a rather nice area - roads are a little confusing, though. (but they've got nothing on that pain-in-the-neck traffic circle near my grandmother's place)

In the meantime, I've seen a little more of season 3. I've seen part of disc 2; liked the Alice Cooper and Marisa Berenson shows but I thought Liberace's segment ran a little long. And I loved how Scooter was trying (in vain) to keep order in the Loretta Lynn episode.

I had a really weird dream last night where I was watching a revised version of AVMMC, lol, and in the end Scooter gets the huge raise in salary he needed! Lol

Yeah the Loretta Lynn one I definitely would be looking forward too!

As for me, I had yet another dream involving Jim's memorial. Seems to be a trend for me. And before that, another one in which I got to meet Richard.

The Loretta Lynn one is fun, and I vaguely remember seeing the scene with Gonzo and Kermit on the handcar when I was a little kid.

Took in a few more episodes last night, including the one with Raquel Welch. And people are right when they say this one was one of the more "sensual" episodes.

Of note to RHLC types: Scooter gets kissed twice by Raquel. We don't see the first one, but he's rhapsodizing about it afterwards (and annoying Fozzie in the process). The second one happens during curtain call.

Yup, I've seen the Raquel Welch episode, a couple years ago when I rented one of the Time Life DVDs. Definitely sensual, lol, but not distasteful (current TV people should take note!). I love how Scooter's all eager but slightly uphelpful when Fozzie laments that he doesn't have the guts to meet Raquel.

Scooter: Oh you really should, Fozzie! Lol

Also when Scoots assure Raquel she doesn't have to wear any of those revealing out fits, "....not unless you really want to!"

Scooter warns Kermit that Raquel's trying to change her image and be less sexy. But then after Raquel's big spider number, you can see Scooter slightly shrug because it seems his information wasn't quite accurate! Lol Probably most people would never notice, but it's good attention to detail!

Speaking of attention to detail, there's another thing you ought to look for in the Loretta Lynn episode: the Newsman delivers his report from a newsstand in the train station. It's all fitted out with Time, Newsweek and all the usual mags and rags...and the rack on the left is full of copies of Richard's favorite paper. Wonder if the set designers had Richard pick up a few extra copies down in London, or if they borrowed ones that he'd read?

In other news; my mom and I were out biking earlier tonight, and we saw some slob pitch a bunch of rum bottles from his truck window and into the grass. In between other thoughts about how the planet's in enough trouble as it is, I immediately thought of that one story Frank told, about the littering driver in the Rolls-Royce, and Richard's reaction to said driver...

On our way back in, we stopped and picked the bottles up, and took them home to recycle. It's a good thing someone wasn't standing there when they hit.

Hmm, time to bump the thread up...

(hears crash of a head against a piano)

Uh, not that kind of bump.

O_< Goodness, I swear I will never catch up with this thread. I love you guys, and eventually I will be back for good.

-~- Quick update -~-

Me and Rob are still preparing for our wedding that will be happening next June.

I'm working in the local Vocational Rehabilation to work on me keeping a good job.

Had some guy bothering me, but I've taken care of it; thank goodness.

I've gotten to hear the entire Muppetcast with me and Jane Hunt; it was so totally awesome.

And that's it from your oft-missing Fearless Leader, Sara Vines!

I'll be back soon guys!

Good luck with the rehab and the job search and everything else, Sara! As for me, I'm starting a summer-length internship on Monday - a little sooner than I expected, so I'm fairly nervous. (I'm trying to view it sort of as summer camp.)

Some guy was bothering you? That's not good...was he just being a pill or was it something a little more serious - or would you rather not say? Either way, glad it's behind you.

About you and the MuppetCast message - that was really incredible. I mean, it was the way you retold how watching the Muppets helped you get through the bit with HCV - and how sad it was to learn that Richard had died several years before. And Jane was clearly touched.

Hi, guys! I know I've been absent lately. Lately my slightly case of insomnia has changed to totally exhausted each night, lol. So that's good news for me, but bad news for my posting!

("He's got insomnia, he's trying to sleep it off! )

Thanks for the tip on Richard's newspaper cameo, MN, hehe. It's always cute how they tried appealing to both US and UK audiences. And good luck with that project.

I think that's awesome that you went back to recycle the bottles, MN! I recently bought one of those Macy's cloth recycling bags. Instead of constantly getting and throwing away plastic bags at book stores and fast food places, I can put many items in this bag, eliminating a ton of waste. It takes some getting used to (I would forget a lot initially) but it really makes you feel good!

Good luck with everything, Sara! Ugh, yeah I had the male person bothering you thing before, definitely not cool. I hope it's OK. And again, your contribution to the Muppetcast was spot on and so moving, I can tell Jane really appreciated it.

And good luck with the summer internship, MN! Internships can be frustrating because they don't pay, but they're great experience and can really get you started.
