Girls escaped from nursery to watch Sesame Street

Two five-year-old girls escaped from nursery school by walking across a busy main road and along a railway tracks because they didn't want to miss Sesame Street.

The girls managed to climb over the nursery school's fence in Poertschach, Austria, before setting off for home more than a mile and a half away.

A police officer who was called out when their teacher noticed them missing later found them at home in front of the TV and said it was a wonder they had made it home alive.

"The girls crossed over railway lines that are frequently used and a busy main road. It's a wonder they were not knocked over, they must have had a guardian angel with them," he said.

One of the girls, who have not been named, said she went to her friend's house with her because they both wanted to watch their favourite programme.

The nursery school is now being investigated for lack of security.

Wow, skipping school, just to watch Sesame Street? I wouldn't have the guts to do that, but since I'm homeschool, I don't have to skip school to watch Sesame.

Okay, even though this thread is 3-years-old, that's just  . Skipping school to go home and watch Sesame Street? I love the show too, but I don't think it would be a wise idea to skip school for it.:smirk:

Though, they we're just children. That is very cute and funny but they could have been hurt. D:

That's true, but there just little kids still learning who still need adult supervision.

Right, that's what I mean, their adults aren't supplying enough supervision and discipline.

Heh, I'm glad this thread was bumped and I got to see it. Thanks SSL Fan!

On one hand, I would say this is extreme loyalty, but on the other hand, doesn't it kind of defeat Sesame Street's purpose of education?
