Am I the only one who can't believe she was 74 when she appeared in the Paul Lynde Halloween Special? As the witch, she looks like she could pass as 30; night and day from the two stills we've seen from 847.
You are very close, I think she was about 72

Making plans to go back to the archives this month to do some more research, this time being on the testing done on the episode, as well as some more viewer mail.

@Oscarfan anything you and the Wiki folk might need?

ANOTHER STEP AHEAD!

Yesterday I went back to the CTW archives. It all went well. I took pictures.
2019 TRIP FOLDER:

Funny story: Right as I was being told I had 10 minutes left before I had to leave, I hit the jackpot and found an entire folder containing the the memorandum and letters pertaining only to the episode. So, naturally, I took pictures of as many as I could, skipped a few, and took some more, barely skimming through them.

I included the memorandum as a PDF and letters as jpegs in this here folder:

Just remember:
You got it here first!

The notes about the test they did on kids were interesting. I never thought about how David and Maria treating the witch like she was real influenced what the kids thought

I noticed that several people who complained about the SS episode claimed that they also let their kids view Mr. Rogers and have no problem with any of that show's content. Didn't The Wicked Witch also appear on Mr. Rogers one time?

She did indeed! She not only appeared as herself in one episode, showing how she transformed herself into the witch, but also appeared for an entire week as the witch in the make-believe segments.

Yes and no, Margaret appeared talking about her experience playing the witch and she briefly wears the witches hat and dress (makeup and wig not included) and does the witches voice. I can see why that didn't bother the children
