We opened in 2010 and ran through 2012... in May of 2012 we move to a larger venue in a "mini-mall" because we could no longer house the large private parties in our old location. We however were able to get a reduced rent (still super expensive) under what was reffered to as a temp lease. Basically meaning someone would have to come in and completely outbid us ... though we would be allowed to match their offer.... The renter assured us that they had not had any offers on the place in months and so we decided to make the move....Wow!! When did your puppet theater close, and what year did it open? Sounds like a thing so popular that would've run for a long time...
We remodeled the space to our needs put in alot of work and money and were thriving... BUT in November we got the dreaded call... This guy who wanted to open a nail salon had quadrupled our rate bid.... we were allowed to counter offer.... so i met with my business partner... who was originally from the boston area... and we had about 5 meetings trying to decide what to do... He had been wanting to pursue other career opportunities for a few months and it was ultimately decided that we would close down and sort of "go out while we were on top"...
It was heart breaking.. but overall i think it was the best choice.
So in December of 2012 we closed our doors... with tears from the patrons and tears from myself and the staff...
This was what our new location looked like
