I just got KSY this weekend and while I agree that

1) The "I believe in you" moments were too frequent and felt kinda contrived...

2) It wasn't as funny as previous Muppet movies

I did make some observations that I wanted to bring up. Forgive me if this is old hat.

First, all the other muppet movies had a good cast of developed characters we'd known from the Muppet Show or other places. In KSY, the only really developed character is Kermit. And this takes place before he's fully developed, so to speak...

When the Muppet Show first began, if I remember my reading correctly, the writers were still feeling their way around with the characters. It took a good bunch of episodes to really get something great. If I can take a hint, and I think plenty were given, this isn't the last of the Swamp Years to hit the shelves.

Plus, it was a direct to video release, which says to me that it's not good enough to put on the Big Screen. And I'd agree. Anyway, that's the way I see it.

Markus

BTW, I enjoyed it more the second time I watched it, but I don't really know why.
