Definately observation. Dr Teeth/Dr John is obvious but the others I'm basing on physical simularity(sp?). Moon would be a more likely inspiration for Animal, being more famous. I just see an awful lot of Bozzio's personality/phyiscality in the way he plays in Animal.
Another I just thought...
I actually see more of Terry Bozio(Frank Zappa's drummer from 1975-1978) in Animal than Moon. Watch this, and remeber he had a lot more hair in the 70's:
Dr Teeth is a blatant charicature of Dr John
Janice is pretty obviously Joni Mitchell
I always thought that Floyd looked an awful lot like...
I don't have any pictures of the UrSol puppet. It's not at Unclaimed Baggage. It's in the storeroom at The Center For Puppetry Arts in Atlanta:

They do have the Skeksis General on display in their permanent exhibit hall though...
It's not that they've done anything to it necesarilly, it's just the nature of the beast with foam latex. It's almost imposible to keep it from rotting and the puppet is 20 years old. The latex parts of him really aren't in much worse shape than the mystic that they have at the CFPA in Atlanta.
My understanding is that the airline(s) spend 90 days of intensive(thier words) working trying to find the owner of an unclaimed bag or parcel. If by the end of those 90 days the owner can't be found, the bag is sold unopened, so they would have no idea what the contents were when they sold it...
Just an FYI for all interested. While traveling along Highway 72 through northern Alabama yesterday my wife and I stopped in a small town called Scottsboro, about halfway between Huntsville, AL and Chattanooga, TN. There is a special second-hand store there called Unclaimed Baggage. Everything...
Well, judging by my local Target, I'm not sure they ever did sell them. I was in there last night they still don't have anything more recent that series four.
I Like the Frank Oz idea, as a cameo if nothing else. I think it would be hillarious if the "face" of the Wizard was played by The Mighty Favog!
How many in your party?
Boy, what a can o' worms I opened up here! This is what I get for posting every four or five months... (Phillip, thanks for updating the thread title and adding the article text. I tried to come back and put the text in but couldn't get the site up at the time)
I think most of your casting...
Whew!
Glad to hear you're OK Kevin. I've been checking out the 'Appeal's website and WMC's website for updates, pics, video etc. I can't believe this didn't make the national news. One of my best friends was on vacation, with his family, in Florida on Tuesday and got home from the amusement...
I seem to remember him telling me he either lives in Midtown or used to live in Midtown so he would almost certainly be without power. So far all the friends and family I've called were either fine, out of town when the storm hit, or I got the answering machine so at least they have power. Whew...
I picked up a copy of it this evening at our local Barnes & Nobel. It was a BIG surprise to me! I've not been on the board here for a while so I didn't even know about it being re-issued. I really missed this book. I never owned it myself but I used to check it out from the old mid-town...
Of course, depending on the sales numbers for celebrity figures in general, there's always the posibility that Palisades might pursue a figure or two that may have been on TMS. And they could make said celebrity figure in say, a 10-12" scale which would make them about the right size in...
