    Little Muppet Monsters Revelation...

I do remember watching it in one hour blocks and for one season a ninety minute block. Although I also must of started watching the season after the short lived Little Muppet Monsters because I remember Pee Wee's Playhouse was part of the lineup. As I recall they would usually have a...

On this day, 30 years ago today...

It's amazing I now! I've been meaning to post a list of my favorite episodes on this site for a long time...but I've also had an outline for an essay in my head summarizing the layers of intrigue I get from my number one pick. Problem is I'm not sure where to post once I've finished since...

    Muppet Babies Music Question

There were a few songs with fleeting references to Santa Claus. Two that come to mind are the Merry Go Round song from "Fun Park Fantasies" and Good Things Happen in the Dark from "Who's Afraid of the Big, Bad Dark?". The later episode and "Is there a Muppet in the House" have fear and haunting...

Why Power Rangers owes it's very existence to Muppet Babies....well sort of

Since 1971 Toei Company had pioneered a new kind of Tokusatsu (or Japanese special effects) with Kamen Raider, the first of many super-hero action shows to specialize in "Transforming" or (Henshin) super heroes who change there appearance while forming a martial arts pose and due battle with a...

Why Power Rangers owes it's very existence to Muppet Babies....well sort of

In 1978 Marvel Comics was only beginning a long and tangled history of licensing. They were expanding there interests not just in terms of adapting hit material from other mediums in comic books (like Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica and the first Star Trek movie), but licensing there own...

    Little Muppet Monsters Revelation...

YES! In fact I can provide the source of that quote. I've been leading up to creating a separate forum heading to explain why Power Ranger almost owes it's very existence to Muppet Babies, but now I wonder if maybe I should just save it for here.

    Little Muppet Monsters Revelation...

I see what you mean. Like a lot of the movies featured on MST3K, it could be hard to sit through without some mocking commentary. There is youtube channel BTW which features riffing on some old cartoons including Tomb of Dracula. My favorite part is when the make it seem like Dracula can't stand...

    Little Muppet Monsters Revelation...

It seems like Marvel Productions was using Toei for there animation outsourcing from the beginning of the company's renaming from DePatie-Freleng. DePatie had previously produced animated series Fantastic Four and Spider-Women before Fritz Freleng went back to work for Warner Bros. Aside from...

    Little Muppet Monsters Revelation...

There was a follow up anime with Marvel's version of Frankenstein's Monster though I haven't seen it. The Tomb of Dracula anime I have seen and...yeah it's awful...but I'd count it as one things that's so bad it hilarious. The animations pretty decent and from what I can they seemed to follow...

Questions about Muppet Babies in general

Well, when I said Muppet Studios I was actually thinking of The Muppet Workshop in New York, but I couldn't remember the exact name. :o You're probably right about the west coast factor though. Since they company was really expanding at that time and performers were working in several...

Questions about Muppet Babies in general

As someone who grow up with Muppet Babies as my first introducing to anything Muppet related (not to mention many of the movies that clips featured on the show), I can answer a few of these questions. First of all, the series was did not start with CBS. They had to be sold on the idea by Jim...

    Between the Lines

I was suprised to find no mention of this online video in the minor series by Oancitizen so I though I'd post a link. It briefly delves into what the author thinks is a hidden influence on The Muppets. I try to explain further, but this video kinds of speaks for itself. It doesn't take to long...

Think I found an inside-joke on Jem

True that. Although I'm sure who would've likely been behind this reference. Margaret Loesch (the women behind The Hub) was an executive producer for both shows, but the only major connection was the score composer Robert J. Walsh. Of course both series were also produced (in part) by the know...

Think I found an inside-joke on Jem

Well it's been just over a week since I set up this trend and so far no else is writen in to say either "I see it too" or "You're imagining things." So I offer up a bonus. Here's another of Jem episode where it seems like a transitional object from Muppet Babies was snuck in. This time (at the...

Yeah, I kind of thought the same thing. Certainly doesn't seem negative in context.

Do Bowie and Connelly really dislike Labyrinth?

In response to this trend I googled old interviews with Jennifer Connelly and found these quotes from 2001 when she was promoting A Beautiful Mind. When talking about how having a son has changed her the way she works we got this exchange: Has your son seen your films yet? No. He's seen the...

Think I found an inside-joke on Jem

A was watching an episodes of the Marval Productions/Hasbro tie-in series Jem on Veoh a few weeks ago when something made me do a double take! Specificly in the episode titled "Scandal" during a series of flashback scenes to Kimber's childhood (a little more than 17 minutes in), you can see what...

Which movies and TV shows were on "Muppet Babies"?

What makes this episode even funnier in retrospect is Fozzie's line "This movie is rated PG. We're underage." Temple of Doom caused some much controversy at the time of it's release due to the graphic level of violence, it's been largly credited with starting the PG-13 rating.
