The Dark Crystal Super Special (1982)

Marvel Super Special #24, published February 1982. Written by David Anthony Kraft. Penciled by Bret Blevins. Inked by Vince Colletta. 64 pages.

Here is an adaptation of "The Dark Crystal", published in a magazine-size comic. The comic story is followed by photos from the film and some of Brian Froud's concept drawings. There are two versions, the trade paperback style and the staple bound.

The Dark Crystal Comic Adaptation (1983)

Marvel Official Adaptation, published April-May 1983. Written by David Anthony Kraft. Penciled by Bret Blevins. Inked by Vince Colletta.

The Super Special issue above was printed on much better paper and higher quality colors so we recommend that edition if you are looking for the best comic possible.

Labyrinth Super Special (1986)

Marvel Super Special #40, published 1986. Written by Sid Jacobson. Unpaged.

The official comic adaptation from the film. It is the three individual comic adaptations in one volume.

Labyrinth Comic Adaptation (1986-1987)

Marvel Official Adaptation, published 1986-1987.

Same as the super special but released in three volumes at the end of 1986 and the beginning of 1987.
