Has anyone here taken such courses? I am considering it, as I'm doing a number of the voices in dotBoom, and while I like to think I've got a decent range, I know it could be much better, and also, I'm running into the maximum number of different voices I've got in my back pocket.

Any recommendations? I am in Kitchener, so the KW area would be ideal, though I could make it to the GTA for lessons, I imagine.

Thanks!

There's no maximum voice......just change accents and the why you say words...example being Jim Henson he had basically the same gruff voice for rowlf, dr teeth, and other anythings.....but he changed how things were said and added spit to some and took it away for others....just play around and copy other ppl's voices that you like....watch cartoons on youtube like animaniacs or other warner toons. A lot of the voices are the same ppl

gfarkwort, I do a bunch of the voices, and I suppose I was overstating when I said that I was running up against my limits: I was trying to be self-deprecating. I appear to have failed.

Thanks for the links, ChinoXL. I'm looking to get better at the various voices, and to be more professional.

I was wondering. I sometime do voice imitations or try to develope a voice and sometimes I get it just the way I want it and the next day I've forgotten how they work. I can ofcourse tape my own voice and try to imitate that but mostely I seem to be forgetting the technique?

Like some days I can growl and other days I can't. Does anyone have any pointers on consistency?

Try to get into character as much as possible, and when you find a voice you like, remember how you physically obtained the voice, like how you used your throat and mouth. I find sometimes that just feeling a certain way makes me use a certain voice, so remember how you psychologically obtained the voice too.

Hope that helps.
