Well, of course I'd say buy 'em all! At twenty bucks a pop, you're getting the complete, uncut episodes, plus tons of awesome extras, including deleted scenes, commentary, concept drawings, commercials and more.

Personally, my favorite season is 5. There are so many laugh-out-loud funny episodes in the fifth season, and the set has a generous supply of bonus features. Some of the episodes in season 5 include

Homer's Barbershop Quartet - nifty spoof of The Beatles, with a cameo by George Harrison.

Cape Feare - one of the best Sideshow Bob episodes.

Deep Space Homer - Homer goes into outer space; cameos by Buzz Aldrin and James Taylor.

Homer Goes to College - one of the best episodes of The Simpsons ever, IMO, this Conan O'Brien-penned show has Homer going to college in order to keep his job. Unfortunately, all Homer knows about college are the raunchy teen comedies he watches in preparation.

Boy-Scoutz in the Hood - Bart becomes a "junior camper." Features a funny performance by Ernest Borgnine as himself, and spoofs of Deliverance and Friday the 13th.

$pringfield - Springfield legalizes gambling, Homer gets a job as a card dealer, Marge becomes addicted to gambling and Mr. Burns becomes a Howard Hughes-like recluse. Robert Goulet performs in Bart's treehouse casino.

Treehouse of Horror IV - one of the best of the Halloween anthologies, "Treehouse" has Homer selling his soul for a donut, Bart seeing a gremlin tearing apart the school bus (in a parody of the "Twilight Zone" episode with William Shatner) and Mr. Burns makes like the Count in a Dracula spoof.

Lady Bouvier's Lover - Grandpa and Mr. Burns are rivals for Marge's mother's affections.

Burns' Heir - Mr. Burns "adopts" Bart, with the intention of leaving his vast fortune to the boy.

Rosebud - absolutely hilarious episode, in which Burns is haunted by the loss of his childhood teddy bear that has ended up in Maggie's hands. The Ramones sing a birthday greeting to the billionaire, in one of the show's funniest moments.

"Homer and Apu" - Homer causes Apu to lose his job at the Kwik-E Mart, so he moves in with the Simpsons. Meanwhile, James Woods takes over for Apu, in preparation for a film role.

I say that if you can only afford one, get the first one, and get the others in order when you are able to afford them. Otherwise, I'd reccommend season three.

I don't think any of the seasons would disappoint you. The first 5 or so were just hilarious. The first season is a little sloppy in the animation dept, but still funny as heck. No matter which one you decide upon, you will laugh.

I say just buy them all too :stick_out_tongue: :halo:

But if you can't I would recommend you just start at the beginning. I feel that season 1 is somewhat underrated, but I think all the episodes are great.

The others, 2-5, are all fantastic too.

Enjoy!

That's the one where he eats the potato chips in space, right? For me, this moment defines The Simpsons.

Anything with Conan is great! But I'm actually not sure if I've seen this one or not.

One of my favourites! Good choice. ^_^

Um...I'm not quite sure what you mean...

Lol, nah, it's just a lot of useless pop culture knowledge. I absorb it like a sponge. May come in handy if I ever get on "Jeopardy!" or something.

Yeah, "Deep Space Homer" is the one where he smuggles the potato chips aboard the shuttle, and he floats around to "The Blue Danube" when the bag bursts open, pursuing each chip...until he crashes into an ant colony.

"Homer Goes to College" is the one where, in order to keep his job at the power plant, Homer must attend college. Naturally every college rejects him, until Mr. Burns uses his influence. Once Homer gets his acceptance letter, he cheerfully burns his high school diploma.

Woo-hoo! I'm a college man! I won't need my high school diploma anymore! (sets the diploma hanging on the wall on fire, and dances) I am so smart! I am so smart! S-M-R-T! I mean, S-M-A-R-T!

On the first day of classes, Homer explains the rules to Marge.

Marge, try to understand. There are two kinds of students. Jocks and nerds. As a jock, it is my duty to give nerds a hard time.

The dean of the college is a cool, likeable fellow, but Homer assumes him to be crusty and mean, due to the kind of sophomoric college films he's been watching. Ultimately, he runs over the dean with his car, and later, while visiting him in his hospital room, Homer apologizes for his "prank."

Homer's roommates/tutors are a trio of nerds. But Homer takes a liking to them, and attempts to take them on a "traditional" college road trip (which goes awry) and kidnapping a rival school's mascot, a pig named Sir Oinks A Lot, whom they get drunk. The pig happens to be a friend of Richard Nixon's, and the ex-president angrily threatens Homer, "you'll pay...don't think you won't pay!"

Despite extensive tutoring, Homer flunks his exam, but his buddies change his grade.

Marge: An A+! How did you do it?

Homer: Oh, let's just say I had a little help from a little magic box.

Marge: You changed your grade with a computer?

Homer: D'oh!

Random quote from this episode:

Homer: The bee bit my bottom! Now my bottom's big!

As for "Rosebud," it's full of memorable quotes.

Smithers: The preparations for your birthday have begun.

Burns: I won't get what I really want.

Smithers: No one does.

(Smithers imagines Mr. Burns popping out of a giant cake, wearing nothing but a sash)

Burns (singing seductively): Happy birthday, Mr. Smithers!

(At Burns's party, the Ramones sing "Happy Birthday" to Burns in their own way. At the end of their performance, Burns is offended)

Burns: Have the Rolling Stones killed!

Smithers: But sir, those aren't--

Burns: Do as I say!

(Then there's Homer's stand-up act)

Homer: Are you ready to laugh? I said, are you ready to laugh?

Audience Member: Quiet, you awful man!

Homer: You know, Mr. Burns is so cheap--

Burns: What?

Homer: I mean...Mr. Burns is so old--

Burns: How dare you!

Homer: Here's an impression of Mr. Burns that I think you'll find a little cheeky! (Homer turns his back to the audience, and pulls down his pants; his bottom has a face drawn on it) I'm Mr. Burns! Blah blah blah! Do this, do that! Blah blah blah! I think I'm so big! Blah blah blah!

(After his performance is a failure, Homer glumly sits with his family)

Homer: I'll never wiggle my bare butt in public again.

Lisa: I'd like to believe that this time. I really would.

Random quote from this episode:

Homer: Mmmm...64 slices of American cheese!
