ok here we go early 80's mind you i did not grow up with the original but i've watched the original which is great but nothing compared to what i refer to gruffly casey me took the train and me got it through with the caryziest combining of rocks and snow on the hill would love to find people who know

I’m pretty sure there was never a remake of this song in the 80’s to begin with.....

thanks phillip but thats the original not the 80's version
I believe in the 90's, the avalanche scene was edited and a few new sound effects were added. It's not really a remake, more of an update. Like what Sesame Workshop did with "Frazzle" and some of the classic animation sketches and songs when they added a few sound effects to the original mono audio track.

This has always been one of my favorite sesame street songs, I remember when I was little and I got the CD "C is for Cookie: Cookie's favorite songs" this was my favorite track
