I saw that the HBO Max version of episode 1 deletes the Follow the Leader segment and they replaced the ending credits with the ones from Episode 5.

"That's the biggest 6 year old girl I've ever seen!" stupid Big Bird.

Anyway, I know this is completely unrelated to episode 1, but did they ever end up playing the "D commercial" and "J commercial" from the pilots on the actual show? Or did Gary Owens not appear on the show proper until "Today's Secret Drawing" in season 2?

Let’s not forget that in the very early going of the show, The Birdster was portrayed as not the brightest bulb in the marquee. Later in the show’s run, the character’s childlike innocence would supplant his “doofus” persona.
