Hey everyone,

I wanted to share some photos of our new character in the process. In case your wondering this puppet was basically made from left over junk around the house the top of a broken umbrella, some extra parts of ikea furniture etc..

Well let me know what you think. I will post more photos through the process of building the robot. When I post the finished pics I will give you his back story its pretty fun.

P.S. Ignore the ugly HU-MAN

Back story for the robot: (Rough Draft)

Back in 1957 when Sputnik was launched into orbit the military became nervous and decided to create a robot to monitor the satellites in orbit around the earth. The top minds began working day and night to create a robot that could monitor the orbit of earth and be able to alert the military of any imposing doom. Hence, S.A.M.M.I (satellite access message monitoring interface) was created. The governments most top secret technology went into building S.A.M.M.I.

However once S.A.M.M.I. was done being created he was deemed not needed by the military anymore. So poor S.A.M.M.I was boxed up and was sent off to the military storage because all though he was not needed he was also a security risk.

On the way to storage the truck crashed releasing him from his box. He made a decision to run away from the military and try to find a new purpose in life.

The present: S.A.M.M.I is still trying to find his purpose in life and trying to go about his day to day. He occasionally is on the run from a scientist wanting to take him apart. Very cautious of the government who is still looking for him. But, the thing that plagues him the most is the antenna on top of his head. With so many signals, radio waves, xm radio, MTV, the mc donald's drive thru. They all seem to interrupt his A.I. and reactivate his basic programming(sometimes in un opprotune moments). Well, these are his adventures of being a secret prototype on the run and trying to find his purpose in life.

All he really wants is to be needed by someone.

Thanks for reading let me know if you have ideas or what you think. I believe this will be a fun show to make and produce. Stay tuned for more.

hey everyone here is some more progress. Still a long way to go. Since the robot is 50 years old he needed some texture to achieve the texture on the body. I used a black plastic bowl spray painted it silver once it was dry I used sand paper to scrape away some of the silver to show the black through the paint.

The body is constructed of two matching bowls sort of chip size I cut through the bottom of the bowls for the arm to go through. To be able to attach the body halves together I taped it together than used epoxy on the inside to bond the two halves together.

The arms are attached with a plastic pin glued on the inside of the body so that the pin is solid but allows the arms to move.

The last shots are to give you guys a little bit of an idea of what the finished product will look like. I should have some photos of the arms in completion tomorrow.

Once again let me know what you think and if you have any questions.
