I'm of the opinion that Muppets shouldn't curse. The short-lived, adult themed Muppets TV series didn't fly, it only lasted one season. I remember being especially saddened when I heard Rowlf say '****.' And 'The Happytime Murders' bombed as well. The Muppets are for kids and their families to enjoy. The material should always be funny and CLEAN. The bottom-rung, dirty comedy may work on South Park, but not with the Muppets.

So should puppet shows like “Crank Yankers” and what have you just not exist then? Cause that’s the vibe I’m getting from this thread.

I kind of agree. I especially didn't like when they sang "Da** Reputation" in the 2015 series. Not very family friendly if you ask me.

The Muppet Show wasn’t exactly a full-on kids show that have a lot of adult stuff thrown in here and there but, you know…… people seem to purposely disregard that. 💁‍♂️🤷‍♂️

The Muppets being clean is the sort of thing why some of us are judged when we tell others we like the Muppets. I'm not saying they need to be on the level of adult programming, but I think there can be good balance between being wholesome and edgy. That's something the Muppets thrived in during the 1960s, and, to an extent, The Muppet Show.

I learned that at one point, didn't Grover utter a certain bad word starting with F on Sesame Street at one point? Or was that an urban legend?

I agree. Legalize seems to have hogged many recent threads and it is downright annoying. And the Home Alone comment has absolutely nothing to do with Muppets. Where is the connection?

Also, I learned that at one point, didn't Grover utter a certain bad word starting with F on Sesame Street at one point? Or was that an urban legend?
I can assure you that Grover never cursed on Sesame Street. There was an episode where he said a word that you can interpret as a curse, but it's not.

I’m not sure where you heard of this cause Grover has never dropped the F bomb by accident on camera (though I’m sure there’s possible unreleased behind the scenes footage of some outtakes here and there that maybe had Frank ad-lib a swear or two as Grover after the director gives the cut cue. But that’s just speculation on my end, so…..).

I think Yahooey is referring to this clip that went viral a few years back. He obviously didn't say it, but it can seem that way.
